Disney/Raglan Road Sued Over Food Allergy Death

So they are looking for a loophole to get out a $50,000 (give or take) lawsuit? For TWDC, $50,000 is a rounding error. Seriously. This is the McDonald's hot coffee case all over again. For those unfamiliar, the woman in that case, who had 3rd degree burns to her crotch, originally ask...

Flower and Garden or Food and Wine

This, 100%. Normally I would have said F&W. But, since the special events have not returned, we have not made a trip down for F&W. That is what makes the experience for us. It makes the overpriced, garden variety, kiosks worth it.

Do any carts in Epcot Germany sell Spezi?

Interesting. I have seen boxes of (allegedly) UK orange Tic Tacs (not a mix, all orange) where the box is tinted orange and the mints themselves are white According to Wikipedia - Tic Tacs are usually sold in small transparent plastic boxes with a flip-action living hinge lid. Originally, Tic...

Do any carts in Epcot Germany sell Spezi?

That is because the UK/EU bans a lot of food dyes that are potentially harmful. The USA has no such qualms. UK orange Tic Tacs are white (the box is tinted orange). USA orange Tic Tacs are loaded with added colors.

    Italian Restaurant Suggestion?

Pretty much spot on, and I am from the Northeast. In reality, it is about 80% red sauce places around here, and 20% that are innovative and different. (and maybe 2% that are fronts - my wife insists that one of the restaurants we go to is a front. How can they afford what boils down to like 2...

Takumi-Tei to debut new menu in August

I will eat just about anything. But soft shell crab is one of those things I order every so often, and then when I eat it, I say "Why did I order this, I don't like soft shell crab". I don't like the texture, and I don't like the taste. I love crab, I can pick and eat crab meat for hours. But...

Takumi-Tei to debut new menu in August

That is not really Omakase is it? Omakase is up the the chef. You are pretty much saying "feed me what you think is good today and showcases your skills".

    Italian Restaurant Suggestion?

I think Trattoria al Forno is good. It is even better when you consider value. I can eat there, enjoy the food, and not feel like I was fleeced when I get the check. Of course the OP is on the dining plan, so that makes things a little different, but it is still a solid bet.

    Tom Sawyer Island

There was a couple of years when I used to go to WDW a couple of times a year by myself. I had an AP, was DVC, and work had me flying into Tampa/Orlando area on a fairly regular basis, so I would add a vacation day or two onto my work trip and go for a long weekend. I like looking for things...

    Tom Sawyer Island

The island is big, but TSI (where guests can go) is only from Fort Langhorn south. There is plenty of room on that island to add something if they wanted to.

Poll: For those who curbed visits or stopped visiting Disney Parks, what are your top reasons?

Time to tell my WDW "origin story" again The first time I went to WDW as an adult (as in financially on my own. I had a mortgage payment, kids, a wife, etc. ) I thought it was EXPENSIVE when I booked it. It was a real stretch on my budget. I planned Pop Century, breakfast in the room, eating at...

DCL Food Picture of the Day

I think the real spelling is Sfogliatella. I have also seen it as sfyaldel. I have also heard it pronounced as if it has a Q in there somewhere. Squi-a-dell I think that is why so many people call them Lobster Tails. :D

    Turf Club opinions

You are not going to come out saying "wow, that was one of the standout meals of my life" but you are also not going to come out saying "wow that was disappointing" It is a solid option. It does have a fairly limited menu (as does more places at WDW now) so if you are staying at SSR and eating...

The Cake Bake Shop Bakery, What the Heck?

To be fair, the Disney deal did not kill that company. They made a bunch of business mistake prior to that. The ice cream was unique, but that just means different, not necessarily better. But what killed it was poor business investment. They spent a boatload on capital and made product...

Non-DCL trip report: Royal Caribbean through the Panama Canal

We are like that when we cruise to Bermuda. Bermuda cruises tend to dock for 3 days, so there is time to do a lot of out and about sightseeing. I think we have been on 4 Bermuda cruises now. We at lunch in Hamilton ONCE. Never doing that again. A hamburger, a chicken sandwich, and two...

Victoria and Alberts wins Michelin Star!

It started out as a guide for motorists to find a good place to eat. Very appropriate for a tire company. Over the years it has morphed into a bellweather of fine dining.
