Je ne sais quoi.
Tell us how you really feel.
Did you avert your eyes from all of the various window displays while walking through, some with animatronics? The interactive paintings? The walkaround characters?
Where it doesn't have show buildings, Galaxy's Edge is surrounded by a tall berm & walls. How is that any different than what Universal's been doing? You're not going to create near perfect sightlines without the land being surrounded by something, even if it's just trees. In this case they...
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but this is probably the dumbest idea they've come up with, unironically, since Hollywood did an Undertaker house in the 90s. Even as a former wrestling fan, I don't see the appeal of a crossover in this setting.
Is it? Sure, they could try adding some more walkaround characters or other, smaller details to help with kinetics, but is that going to be nearly enough? You're not actually making the land more interesting, even to the built-in fanbase it's targeting, without a major overhaul.
But we should remember there's more to thematic immersion than physically creating sense of place, and I can't think of a land that better proves this point than Galaxy's Edge. Yeah, it looks convincing enough as a location in the Star Wars universe, if you ignore the fact that there's no life...
There aren't any parks that have more than a handful of attractions on that level though, so I find it difficult to believe that's what they meant, even if it sounded hyperbolic. Obviously not every attraction at one park will be on par with the best of another, much less superior.
I think...
The irony...
I don't think Epic is the most immersive park by any means, and it definitely has some sightline issues (among others) that need resolving, it's just that when people start responding to any praise of the park in such a way that makes you think, "Who hurt you?," you start to...
I don't know why you're so flustered by differing opinions on the park, but you really think only two rides in Epic are on Disney's level of "technical prowess?" As if every ride at Disney is a cutting edge E-ticket?
Of course they could reappropriate the theater space in the future. But would they? This is the same company that's had a theater sitting empty for literally 99% of a park's existence, and you want to put that much faith in them to not allow it to happen again? For an IP that only managed to run...
I'm not sure anyone knows what you mean at this point, because I was clearly referring to the former Wicked show in Japan, which was intended to be just as "permanent" as any other attraction, not the Wicked retheme of the Hello Kitty store here. Did you think a show that was meant to be...
Nothing is actually permanent in a theme park, and many hypothetically "permanent" attractions don't last as long as others. Just ask the creators of Superstar Limo, another "permanent" attraction.
None of the currently unused theaters would be appropriate for a Wicked show, unless they...
They already did, in Japan. A Cliff's Notes version of Wicked. It ended up only lasting a few years, but they did it. They also have experience adapting other musicals for a theme park environment. An entire land might be a bit of a stretch, but they'll do anything if they can be convinced of...
So do they plan to continue with the stories in the other books? Because the movie is an adaptation of the musical, which in turn is apparently based only on the first of these books.
If the story is complete, does it need any more chapters? This sounds like we're asking for continuation just for continuation's sake, which can hurt a franchise just as easily as it can produce longevity.
Speaking of franchises, Wicked is just a spin-off of Wizard of Oz, a franchise that's...
To be fair, it is a Jurassic World ride, so the pacing is in-character, if not optimal. I think the actual Jurassic Park rides are appropriately slow burns, even if I'd prefer to see some more visual points of interests squeezed in along the way if they ever give River Adventure an overhaul...
The ride's conclusion strikes me as oddly abrupt, but I don't think I can get a proper feel for the rest of the story unless it's translated into English. The language barrier creates too much of a disconnect. It's definitely chaotic, but it should be given the source material.
I think the...
The chase scene is obviously the highlight of the ride, but there's more to it than that. It gets a bit screen-heavy for my liking towards the middle, but it has a decent amount of practical overall, probably more than Spider-Man. This is just my impression from watching videos. The real...
