    What did you do?

Hello all. Still alive! So after a terrible year or so, it's looking up. 3 days in a row of 5k+ runs, with a 6+ mile last Saturday, so 4 outta 5. Doing a steps/distance challenge that has prizes enough to motivate me to try to squeeze em in. PLUS second shot is tmrw, so 2 weeks out of...

    What did you do?

A 3ish mi hike up & down a mountain on Sat. With a 6yo and the dog, it was practically a run at times. Sun was about 4ish easy with my DW.

    What did you do?

Did 6 with my DW Sunday, about a 13min/mi pace. Raining and trails with occasional hills. Great time out. Great start. Welcome!

    What did you do?

Did 5ish with DW & DS Sunday. Strangest training I've ever done I think. DS was on his his bike for the first 3 1/2ish, and it was hilly, so had to sprint down the hills to keep up with him, and then help push him up the other side. After we dropped the bike off and just ran/walked, he got...

    What did you do?

Because I don't dare step foot in the gym until I'm vaccinated. And the best way for me to get consistent runs in is at the gym. (See my lack of regular runs for the last year)

    What did you do?

Registered for the virtual Boston in Oct. Means I need to a) get my vaccine (got appt made this morning!) b) get running more

    What did you do?

Sunday did about 3.5 with my DW, DS stayed in his jogger the whole time this week. It was cold and he was tired. Surprised he didn't get out once.

    What did you do?

5kish with the DS and DW on Sun. Considering it was my DWs first run in years, and DS and I had spent the morning skiing, the pace wasn't anything fancy.

2.3@8ish yesterday. It was mid fifties, far cry from the weather a day or two earlier.

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

I'd suspect that the race itself is at least revenue neutral, if not turning a profit. A vast amount of the people you see are (were? can't recall the end state for the FL races after the kerfluffle in CA)volunteers. Most of the check in, corrals, and water/snacks on course is volunteer. Sure...

    What did you do?

Neg temps w/40 mph winds just haven't been remotely conductive to running. They are supposed to be changing, so hopefully I'll get out soon.

Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon

I'm shocked if they aren't profitable. Disney won't keep doing things if they aren't profitable. Even the cheap no frills 5k at $40 has to make a profit. Pretty much every virtual race is in the $25-40 range, and those usually include a shirt/hoody/hat/whatever in addition to the medal. And...

    ESPN Club Done For Good?

Yup, a Wyland gallery. There also used to be one at the Poly, but I think that space was taken over for the Dole Whip stand. I'd ask the same question about the 35,000 crystal castle, or heck, even just hundred dollar pairs of sunglasses. You would be surprised what people will buy. And...

    What did you do?

Suspect it's run/walk. Twelve parts running, to two parts walking. Probably minutes, I've never understood the Galloway pacers that are like 3:30/:30. By the time the pack all stops running, it's almost time to start right back up.

    What did you do?

3.1@8:20ish last night. Running under the mostly? full moon was cool. Having most of the cars either not give me room, or at least turn off their hi beams wasn't cool. So having to stop and carefully pick my way into snowbanks sucked. And it's weird having to pay attention to both puddles...

    What did you do?

5k @ 8min pace. Just beat the snow storm. (Which is more a rain/ice storm, but I digress) Congrats.

    What did you do?

The theory goes, bump up the incline to 1 or 2%. That gets the work much closer to what you would do outside. The pull of the belt makes it slightly easier to run on the treadmill, and the incline offsets that. Think it was 4 degrees outside this morning. ; ) Waiting for them to plow some...

EPCOT Found some interesting past eBay listings.....

At one point Disney sold stuff like this themselves on eBay directly. I know they had the Dream Mobile (one of them) listed way back in the day. Think that whole thing went for under $10K. Admittedly the shipping was probablly as much as the sale price, but when you say the apron sold for...

    Souvenir suggestion for CoWorkers?

They will be, but many collectors actually prefer to use the older pennies. IIRC the newer pennies are only copper coated with a zinc inner, while the old ones are solid copper. So the newer pennies may streak when if the zinc comes through or mixes with the copper.
