    Does anyone remember....

when there were NO characters at Epcot? (I think they added them in the mid 80's) It would still be my favorite WDW park even without characters, but I think having them keeps a lot of the kids happy.

The character bus in Epcot is ending?

Does this mean forever? I'm assuming the characters will still be there, right? (we might be taking my niece this winter)

    A couple of character questions

Anyone remember when there weren't ANY characters at Epcot? Bringing them in was one of the best improvements I think Disney made.

Speaking of almost packing the cat....

and I have the cat frame I have the cat frame with a picture of my cats in it. Does anyone know if any of the "Aristocats" cats were ever characters at WDW? I haven't seen them as far as I know.

Speaking of almost packing the cat....

Has anyone ever got one of those picture frames with the Disney cats or dogs on it, then put their pets' pictures in it? Those frames are so cute!

    World Showcase improvements

Netherlands? Great ideas, SIDI! How about a Netherlands pavillion, with a mini-Amsterdam? LOL, I can see Walt spinning in his grave over that....

    World Showcase improvements

I think World Showcase is great, but there are a few countries that could use improvements I think. If you could improve any of the countries, what would you do? I'd put attractions in the countries that don't really have attractions, for instance maybe a gondola-like ride in Italy.

Funny things people say at WDW

To TheMack618 YOU are the reason Stitch replaced Alien, according to them? As in people find out it was replaced and then shoot the messenger? (aka you)

Funny things people say at WDW

To Since1976 What year? At the end of one day at MK, I overheard a father, obviously very tired, say to his wife and family: "Maybe we should have planned for more than one day at Disney World. I had no idea there was more than one park!" What year did you hear this? If it was recently, I...

    Your first time at WDW

To Silent Wind ODoom (I wouldn't know until I watched a Saturday Night Live segment with Kelsey Grammer a few years ago that a league doesn't measure depth.) The one where they kept repeating "We're 20,000 Leeeeeagues Under The Seeeeeea." over and over? That was a funny sketch!

    Your first time at WDW

To "Mr. Toad." Great pictures! What month did you go to WDW? (at the time those pictures were taken) That little girl (your daughter?) seems to be wearing heavy jackets in a lot of the pictures she's in.

    Your first time at WDW

My cousin Gina is married to one of the actors that was on Thunder in Paradise! (Chris Lemmon) Did they film all of it at WDW? I never saw the show (it's not my kind of show) and I don't remember what my aunt told me about all this.

    Your first time at WDW

What year did you first go to WDW, and what do you most remember about that visit? For me it was 1985. I was 13 and glad my parents had waited to take us until Epcot was finished! (I think it had been open about 2 years then)

    For Orlando area residents....

Orlando does have a year round tourist industry.... unlike Cape Cod, which sometimes feels like it has a 15 minute tourist industry! Sometimes I think "why do people get all excited over sand and water?" There seems to be far more to do and see in the Orlando area-- but does even all that get...

    For Orlando area residents....

Is there a certain time of year when the whole tourist situation can become REALLY annoying for locals? I'm on Cape Cod so of course, it's the summer. I know Orlando does not become a ghost town like the cape can be the rest of the year, but I was wondering what your version of "Cape Cod...

    Irony....

Actually, work is not as much of a problem as the book I'm trying to write. I have the beginning and the end, but not much of a middle. Sometimes when I try to think of a middle, all I can see my characters doing is going to WDW! (It probably wouldn't work if I really put something like that in)

    Who's Been In October before?

It's great in Oct! The only downside to going then is that I think the water parks might be closed.

    Refering to WDW...

Speaking of Frank Costanza, I always thought it would be funny if the Seinfeld cast went to WDW, Kramer especially!

    Refering to WDW...

On the show "Ellen" (the sitcom not the talk show) On an episode of "Ellen" Ellen showsher friend the postcards her parents had sent her from "England, France, Germany and Italy." and Paige says: "I didn't know they were in Europe." "They aren't." says Ellen. "They're at Epcot Center."...

    Returning from Disney

"All cruise" cruise or.... The other option is to take a Disney Cruise, which we've never done before. An "all cruise" cruise or a part WDW-part cruise package?
