News Christine McCarthy to step down from her role as Chief Financial Officer

🤔 https://www.wsj.com/articles/disney-finance-chief-christine-mccarthy-to-step-down-3ba5b1e8 So it seems she wanted to eliminate even more jobs.

News Christine McCarthy to step down from her role as Chief Financial Officer

That she's remaining with the company through 2024 suggests finding a new CFO will take some time. At least they're not in NBCUni's shoes; they still haven't found a replacement for ex-CEO Jeff Shell.

News Christine McCarthy to step down from her role as Chief Financial Officer

Considering how she handled the Chapek regime I don't think she would've been a prime successor for Iger as CEO. It actually wouldn't surprise me if Iger starts looking for an outsider for once. Maybe some old WarnerMedia guys pushed out after the Discovery merger?

It's Iger’s company. I doubt it will change a thing.

It gets worse. Who's giving this movie positive reviews?

It appears The Flash is getting massive heat days before release for a certain scene that just leaked. Jesus Christ, WB.

Duh. Did anybody really think the script was ready before the strike?

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

I wouldn't say Prop Culture was "trash" even if only diehards watched it. And you know what's also trash? 60% of Touchstone Pictures films. Disney still has them widely available in some form.

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

One thing that boils my mind is people saying that shows and movies exclusive to streaming services that get pulled are "gone forever" like the hard drives, film prints and/or master tapes of said movies/shows have been destroyed/erased. What year is this? 1970? If the studios were found to...

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Good news: two of those shows are still there. Bad news: the average D+ subscriber doesn't care for those shows, unfortunately. The biggest mistake people made was thinking streaming services would replace home video. Guess what? They're just television networks no different from HBO. The...

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Most content slated for removal now gone. No surprises here thus far, but Everything’s Trash from Freeform is no longer available for digital purchase despite being so previously. Odd, since none of the other Freeform shows suffered that (I doubt this is a tax write-off thing, especially since...

    All Things Streaming (VOD, OTT)

So it looks like the HBO Max to Max has been a total disaster thus far. Some devices have to download the Max app separately from HBO Max. On top of that, sometimes the Max app randomly logs out people even after they signed in. Zaslav sure looks good out of all this....

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Spoke too soon. Oh well. It's not like I was that hooked into it. I hope WB doesn't give it the tax write-off treatment when they get the rights back.

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Just wait. When the writers strike is over (and it will) the number of shows and movies getting pulled from streaming to avoid residuals will skyrocket. Not even Netflix and Amazon will resist the temptation to pull their own shows and movies off.

Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

Like I said, did actually believe that was sustainable? With streaming residuals being so low and streaming being so unprofitable versus cable it was logical to assume the studios would be willing to pull their own content off when those residuals start going up. For now. I wouldn't be...
