I don't get the reason for the comparison and why one has to be better. We go to US/IOA every time we're in Orlando. I mean, we're there, why not? And as I've gotten older, Universal as a whole has a lot more to offer an adult with better clubs/bars, good food, great thrill rides.
Now I'm...
Gift cards would run like a CC, so you can tip on them and the server would receive the cash at the end of the night. With the DDs being a form of "currency" on Disney properties in $1, $5, and %10 denominations, they may be seen as paper gift certificates, and the server may not be able to...
I would look into this a bit further before using DDs for tips. Coming from a food industry background, stuff like that is sometimes seen as gift certificates. If a server gets them as a tip, they may not be able to exchange them for cash.
I have no clue as to how it works, and someone...
Awesome! Talk about being organized. We kinda flew by the seat of our pants during family vacations and went with the flow - going to parks when we wanted, making dinner reservations the morning of or the day before.
I love it, though. Now I have a reason to use Excel.
Cheers,
Dave
Haven't stayed at WL for a while, but have always loved it. Like previously mentioned, the lobby's fantastic, great food, and lots of places to explore. The pool rules. There's such a great laid back atmosphere there that really makes you feel that you're miles away from anything, but have...
I haven't been back since Summer '05. I'm straight Jonesin' for some WDW. Wait, that's a lie. I was there in Winter '07, but for a conference and only when to DtD for lunch one day. So that doesn't count. At any rate, even though it'll be three years this summer, I still have to wait a year...
Our normal trip to Disney included a day or two at Universal interspersed throughout the Disney Parks. Always worked for us without any disappointment on either end. It was nice to break it up like that.
MK - Splash, FP BTMR, PotC
MGM (will always be to me) - ToT, FP RnR, ToT, RnR, FP ToT, RnR, ToT, and then Star Tours
We usually just take our time at Epcot and wonder around. Not necessarily the best plan, but it works out.
I'm in an interesting situation. I travel a ton for work, and usually spend a week in each city/area that I'm in. Since I have evening free in these areas, I get to "see the sights" and "explore" a lot of these areas, so I have "mini vacations" while I'm working (not relaxing by any means, but...
Run the other way as fast as you can!!!!
The Haunted Mansion repeatedly. I hear it's dark in there . . . . :lookaroun :animwink:
Congrats!! - And have a good time!!
Wow.
Can open. Worms everywhere.
Lots of opinions, which is what I was looking for. To hit on a few points which I should have put in the OP:
We are planning on as many repeat trips to WDW as possible for us, hopefully once a year, maybe every other year. This wouldn't DD's only trip by...
Thanks for the quick responses everyone. I'm really excited to get to see her reaction to WDW. For me, the sooner the better, but I can understand why people wait. I guess we'll see what happens. Thanks again for all the anecdotes.
Cheers,
Dave
Hey all -
New to the site. I've been a DisneyHead since my first trip in '90 when I was 10. Now I have my own daughter and can't wait to share Disney with her. The issue is she just turned 1 on Friday. So as the thread title states - How young is too young?
If I had it my way, I would...
There's a reason there are bars in airports . . . . :D
Since we had our daughter, I've been rather apprehensive about flying. I used to fly a bunch for work, and am about to start up again, and I'm with you on the apprehension. Flying with people you know helps. Make sure you have something...
The South Side Shirt = Awesome. Undeniably true.
And on the Steelers Bar tip, here's a link for Yinz who travel a lot, n 'at. Bookmark it for football season.

Fantastic thread. In Indiana, PA here. No Disney trip this year. Daughter's still too young. hopefully Late '09 or definitely '10. New to the site and I love it. And now that I know there's a huge contingency from Da 'Burgh, it makes the site even better, n 'at.
Just a couple comments...
I think we need a bit more information on the newbies to answer this question. What are the guys' hobbies and interests? Are they coaster people? Do they like the behind-the-scenes stuff?
For example. . . If they're fans of other cultures, hit up World Showcase after starting at the Test...
