The good thing about this is the characters will be out more and I want to get a picture with them. I am excited for this change. I see no problem with characters being a part of World Showcase. As long as Belle doesn't show up in China,etc then it is fine.

They actually had a couple differnt rides themed to Disney Afternoon. The midget Autopia near the motorboat cruise was themed to Resue Rangers. I remember they had a bunch of signage all around the area for Disney afternoon. There is more info on it here...

The ride is going into DCA too on Paradise Pier, so the name will fit there, but at the Studios it needs a different name and possibly a little bit different theming. The ride isn't on a boardwalk like at DCA.

There is no way Disney would build a cheap $50/night Motel 6 like hotel. I could see a more compact hotel, but it would need to be themed. Something along the lines of Paradise Pier Hotel in CA, but not as tall I would think. The pricing for the new hotel will probably be similar to the value...

No, it does not have the party. The park stays open for everyone and everyone gets to enjoy the extra entertainment and Christmas parade. They also have Small World Holiday where they sing Jungle Bells and the whole ride is decorated inside and out. Haunted Mansion Holiday is also very cool...

I HOPE the magazine makes a comeback. I got the same email. I originally purchased the hardcover, but returned it as I was disappointed with the litho and DVD. I did end up getting the softcover. I do like the articles and pictures.

I don't think they could pull the change off right at WDW as Pirates is not close to the island. They would need to retheme it to something that would keep the Frontierland / Liberty Square feel. At DL they could possible pull it off as the island is in view of Frontierland, New Orleans...

I agree. They should either tear down what they have built or at least finish the 40s as suites and open that up, so we don't have to look at half finished buildings for years. They can build a decade at a time every 2 years or so.

Many of the hotels are as close or closer than Disney's hotels to the parks. My favorite is Candy Cane Inn next to DCA. Very nice place and within walking distance.
