    50th anniversary ideas for trip

When you check in online, make sure you note the occasion and the staff may arrange some extra Disney magic (no guarantees of course.) If you send the hotel staff the honeymoon picture, they might even be able to figure out about where they stayed.

How much does your average Disney World vacation cost?

Completely changes trip to trip depending on how many people are going and where and how long we stay. I've had amazing trips for less than $1,000 and upwards of $10,000. Yes, it's expensive, but travel in general is expensive. I've been looking for a vacation rental house near the beach in the...

Your Favorite Resort For A Sit

The beach at the Polynesian as the sun goes down. I love watching the boats passing by while listening to the tropical music.

Why hasn't Toy Story Mania Games been updated?

A holiday overlay would be great here. Spend the money to create the graphics once and then use them for years. They could turn it on for Jollywood Nights and the week leading up to Christmas (like the Christmas parade at MK.)

    Worst Move in Parks History

I agree, but no crowds=no revenue, therefore it must go. If you want some peace and quiet, you can sit in your overpriced hotel room!

    Worst Move in Parks History

This new one is it for me. I might have been able to get behind changes to the river and island, and the new ride looks interesting, but Cars has NOTHING to do with the frontier!

Gideon's Bakehouse - Top strategies to get a cookie?

Gideon's offers a virtual queue when the line gets long (which it almost always is!) You go to the shop and a cast member outside will have a QR code to join. Gideon's and Starbucks opens before the rest of Disney Springs between 9am and 10am. There are no buses from Disney resorts that early...

To Fan or Not to Fan, that is the question.

I bought a couple cheap ones for our trip last September and we never used them. When it got really hot, like in line for BTM, I asked everyone of they wanted them and nobody did. I say skip them.

    Mickeys Very Merry Christmas party

The castle show is my favorite, not just for the party, but for all WDW.

year you first went to WDW

1979 for WDW, but 1971 for DL when I was 10 days old!

One ride, one show, one meal and one firework show

Pirates Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration Cinderella's Royal Table (for the atmosphere and because I could never justify the expense before!) Fantasmic! (at DL if possible)

Are paper maps still a thing

I have all of mine since 1986 and do occasionally reference them to see how the parks have changed. That, in my opinion, is the problem with going all digital-once they update the map online, the public can't access the old one (I certainly hope they archive them themselves.)

Special Experiences for 2 year old?

You all might enjoy heading over to Fort Wilderness to see the horses and stay for the free campfire sing-along with Chip and Dale. You can take the water launch there from MK.

    Air mattress at Pop?

It can be done, but those Pop rooms are pretty tight to squeeze in another bed.

Shout Out to "El Rio del Tiempo"

I was the weird kid who loved If You Had Wings, so this one was an instant favorite on my first Epcot Center visit in 1986. I was leery when they changed it to the 3 Cabs, but I like it just as much. We absolutely need more small, slow rides like this in all the parks. What they lack in thrills...

    Dining in the Magic Kingdom

Personally, I wouldn't spend valuable party time in a sit-down restaurant, but if I were going to, Skipper's Canteen would be my choice. Good food and a fun atmosphere.

At opening in 1982, was EPCOT Center a "full day" park for you?

We didn't go until 1986, at which point, for us at least, it was a two-full-day park. There was so much live entertainment in World Showcase you could spend a full day just watching it.

    Juneteenth vs July 4

July 4 is historically one of the busiest days of the year at MK because of the fireworks. Personally, I would avoid it.

Looking for Animal Kingdom Lodge tips

Since the OP said they had a standard room and not a villa, that should be in Jambo House. There are great animal viewing locations around practically every turn and there are often animal experts right outside the lobby to answer questions. As noted by others, Kidani Village is right next door...

Where to start on an all four parks park hopping day?

MK is usually open latest, so I would say end there unless you really want to end the trip with Luminous at Epcot or Fantasmic! at DHS. Years ago on the 45th Anniversary, I decided to spend as much time as possible on the Disney buses 😊. I went from MK to EP, EP to DHS, back to MK for the...
