As magical express ends, can we expect cheaper rooms or are we just paying more and getting less?

Walt made plenty of decisions based solely on profit when he opened Disneyland, he’d continue to do the same today. Now he often has a plan to fix those things when he had more money, so there’s a difference there, but the idea he made every decision that every fervent Disney fan would love is...

As magical express ends, can we expect cheaper rooms or are we just paying more and getting less?

Mears ran the shuttle service for years, they run MDE, and they’ll run the shuttle again. I’m waiting to hear what they wanted from Disney to continue the contract that made it unprofitable. There is always a percentage of people who would prefer a shuttle to an Uber, Universals shuttles are...

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

Gosh I hope not when resorts have been doing it this way for years long before we took notice here at Disney. If anything Disney is catching up to the rest of resort travel not setting the standard if you look at the overall market over the past years

That overly simplifies valuation and markets, Iger didn’t really control that aspect of the stock price

Haha it was more about being streaming in the tech space and the overall valuation of tech companies and ‘at-home’ companies during the pandemic. But that’s getting off-topic :)

Honestly the only monetary value taken away is the cost of the transportation to/from MCO, and I never really loved it as a value because at crowded times the wait was often extremely long to get where you're going. Maybe I just don't see these things as game changers either way.

Eh its a normal correction for the market and a result of the stock being more than a little overvalued based on the streaming subscriber numbers. Its not going to make the higher ups blink. Get closer to 30% an they'll talk.

I believe they are also expanding their virtual queue system, which I'm hoping is going to also be done at WDW.

Disney alienates 90% of their guests......What is going on?

Again completely disagree. Your hotel is part of the resort and those people who can afford to do so should expect a higher level. This holds true at the majority of resort destinations around the world and I see no reason it shouldn't extend to Disney as well. This was true of Club Level...

Disney alienates 90% of their guests......What is going on?

I'm not sure what this means.....yes I'm getting more at the Walt Disney World Resort area by paying more. Are we not in agreement?

Very true. And to bring it full circle I've always thought the way FP+ was utilized added to the general problem rather than helped it, but I'm curious to see if any of these things change the overall crowd flow of the parks

Agreed that is my point, they don't care about bumping the current attendance, they want to do more to hold you here and have you stay longer and save cost by having more predictable numbers every day. That's what he mans when he says 'control attendance' in my opinion, its knowing how many of...

Is Atlantis really comparable to Disney though? I was thoroughly unimpressed for the price being paid the last time I had visited, unless its changed a bunch over the past few years or so.

Not sure I was there in May and going this weekend, so I'll let you know! And I don't believe for a second Disney was trying to give us value, they were trying to keep us on property as much as possible pre-ride sharing and more modern technologies. I suppose maybe this is a difference in...

I don't believe they are actively trying to reduce attendance but they are more focused on encouraging longer trips even if they are less frequent from their guests. And much more focused on the resort itself not just the parks. I think they realize they can't keep you 'on property' the way...

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm trying to figure out why people are shocked that a resort area is making many of the same changes that resort areas are making all over the world over the past 10 years. Paid parking, optional shuttle, no baggage handling from the airport are standard things...
