I understand the points of some people trying to keep the costs low but you have to remember in Mike's first post he said there are four of them. So spliting the cost of a more expensive room 4 ways in very minimal and totally worth it for a more convienent location like Boardwalk. It's nice...

My advice Mike would be to stay at the Boardwalk Villas. There is always alot going on there with the ESPN Club, you are also in walking distance of the Swan and Dolphin which have a couple more clubs, NTM you're a quick walk to Epcot and the Studios and a short bus ride to Pleasure Island.

Unfortunately, part of the smell is bug spray. I lived in southern California for a couple years and had to have the condo sprayed a few times a year so I know the scent. Maybe not so much in the great ceremonial house but in the hall ways of the other buildings.

I would look into O'Hana's at the Polynesian. Great theming and great food. Also try The Mayan Grille at Coronado Springs. I suggest the Pumpkin seed incrusted snapper. Yummy!

If you rent a car NEVER use Alamo! Not only have I gotten crappy service from them they are not at the airport. Use National, Dollar or Budget.....these seem to have the best rates in Orlando.

Since David covered the park part of your question I'll answer your character dinning question. My family's favorite is the Crystal Palace for dinner. The food is excellent and Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet usually make it around 2 to 3 times during the meal.

The outside stateroom verandas actually have a balcony which is open air from deck 5 up. It's large enough for two chairs and a small table. Don't know if this is what you are talking about.

Getting lost at the Poly with my Grandpa after we left the restuarant by the game room after the smell of the menus made me sick (I was 8). One of my favorite memories........:(
