Forbidden_donut that is a great photo! You have raised the bar. Did you use a tripod? -Greg

I'm not sure what you mean by leaving the lens open. The lens won't be damaged by light from the fireworks. I wouldn't point it at the sun though :). In general on cameras the lens aperture is open all the way while focusing and composing the shot. This allows more light to come into the...

I did not use a tripod for these shots. I used a Nikon D200 with a fixed 50mm F1.4 lens. Generally I set the shutter speed around a 60th of a second with the f-stop around 1.4 to 2.0. I also cranked up the ISO to around 1000. The D200 does a pretty good job at the higher ISO. The 50mm...

Thanks. The D200 makes it a little easier, but the key is the experience of setting up the camera and the shots. I also shoot with a Canon S50 Digital Point and Shoot that takes great pictures as well (I'll dig some out and post later). For most of the pictures I put the camera in manual mode...

Seas with Nemo & Friends 10-13 Photos

I was in Orlando on a recruiting trip, and was able to get over to Epcot on Friday for the preview of the Seas with Nemo and Friends before my flight out. I took a whole bunch of photos that you can see up on http://burgess.members.winisp.net/disney/seas.htm Here are a few: As mentioned...

Thanks! I used a Nikon D200 with a 50mm F1.4 lens. I had the ISO set between 640 and 1250 for the fireworks and shots of Mainstreet. I set the aperture set between F1.4 and F2.0 and let the camera choose the shutter speed. I also set the exposure compensation down between -1.0 and -1.7 to...

The Living Seas wall is DOWN!

I was at Epcot tonight but got there late for a spin on the new ride. I did though get a really nice picture of the new sign. I'll be out there tomorrow and hope to get more pictures. Check out: http://burgess.members.winisp.net/disney/ As I get more photos I'll add them. -Greg

    20 days or less

Just found out that I am getting sent to Orlando on a business trip next week. Nice little surprise. I'm going to stay an extra day and check out Nemo on the 13th, then head back. Glad I bought AP's this summer :) Hey, but don't tell my kids :) -Greg

Seems that every time we go there are more! Case in point is another little one we spotted this past trip. -Greg

    Cute character stories

Back in 2002 right before our trip to WDW my daughter broke her arm. She was 6 at the time (her first trip to WDW) Every time we ran into a character, they paid a little extra attention (sometimes a lot) to her and all signed her cast. While having the broken arm was not any fun, the...

    One Day-One Park ticket $71!!!

Yeah, but your AP price just went up too. I'm just happy that I ordered my AP's a couple weeks ago. It saved me almost $200 overall since I bought them for my family. At first I didn't think much about it until I realized the increase in the AP was pretty big. But then I thinking about it...

I'm in product development so I didn't get to go :( But, I'll be at WDW in 28 days for 11 days of fun. I've burned a couple hours looking at local.live. The detail is pretty amazing. Totally different when you see stuff from an angle rather than just above. I think that we are just...

Which water park for 5 and 3 year old?

This is tough... BB has a great kids area. Actually two areas. The first is for kid's around 5 and under (IMO). The other is for kids 5 to 11-12(?). Very well themed. The only negative for me is that BB I find to be much busier than TL. TL has a really good area for your age kids...

    nemo diving performers

I think to work in the tank you'll need Dive Master level certification, not just open water. I could be wrong though. What I can say is the task load of having the suit on in addition to being underwater would be something that should not be done without a lot of scuba experience. Good...

    nemo diving performers

To the question of how this works, here is what I was told: The regulator that you see in Mickey's mouth is the actual regulator, with a long mouth piece that can go back to the diver. For you divers out there this creates a large dead air space which may require more heavy breathing. The...

    nemo diving performers

This is most likely for stuff at the LivingSeas. I've been diving with Mickey. Last August during DiveQuest he was in the tank with us. I was told that it was the first time that anyone could remember Mickey being in the water during DiveQuest. Also, it's pretty rare to see Mickey in the...
