Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening reports and using Boarding Groups at Disneyland

I thought the Rise boarding groups always ran out in seconds after they go live. I just checked now though, and they are somehow still available. The park must be pretty deserted and I doubt those 45 minute waits are actually 45 minutes. I wonder if the mask requirement has deterred some...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

Not to mention how DCA is lacking in the atmosphere and charm that Disneyland has. The only really well themed areas are Buena Vista Street, Grizzly Peak, and Cars Land. Most of the other areas of the park feel like lesser Six Flags lands at best(and even that is being generous to DCA), but...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I am surprised anyone would buy anything but park hoppers if they go to any of the parks outside Disneyland or Magic Kingdom. Spending a full 10 hour plus day at DCA would get really boring for me personally. DCA's purpose for me is to have a few fun rides to do that aren't at Disneyland, it...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

As someone from the south, I much rather be represented by Brer Rabbit in the parks than Mater. Brer Rabbit comes across as a friendly, intelligent, and positive southern representation whereas Mater is just crude, stupid, annoying, and obnoxious. The stereotypes in Cars Land are vastly more...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I feel like Chapek is going to continue embarrassing the company, if it wasn't for the Disney fans that like anything and everything that the company produces regardless of quality, Chapek might end up being the CEO that finally kills the Disney brand for good.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I think the classic Eisner era attractions like Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, and Indiana Jones Adventure are worthy to stand aside the likes of Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean and they should be considered untouchable. Just because something doesn't have a direct tie to Walt...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I just did the math and you have to pay for parking 36 times to make up for the difference in price between the Believe and Dream Keys. This is hoping that parking stays at 25 dollars, so the half price parking will be 12.50 with the Believe Keys. I feel like the Believe Key is definitely the...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I should be specific and say worthless for me, especially since the entire summer busy season is blocked. I still don't believe Disney is interested in making the parks less crowded. The point of having reservations is to save money on staffing, not make the park a better experience for the...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

In the past few years, the best days to go were generally the weekends when Deluxe Passes were blocked out. There might be a few off season weekdays that aren't bad, but if you went on an offseason weekday right after SoCal passes were blacked out for a long time, it would be extremely crowded.

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

In SoCal, most visitors have the cheapest pass so those days always tended to be extremely crowded. Plus the earlier closing times made things worse also.

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

Anything below the Believe Key seems pretty worthless, but this isn't that bad overall, especially since the Believe Key gets half priced parking. I kind of want to see how short term availability is for reservations before I buy one myself. I would hate to pay for it and have zero chance to...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I guess that is what I meant was short term availability in terms of it being easy. If this becomes as much of a hassle as getting dining reservations, then it won't be worth it.

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I think what will really determine the worth of these passes is how easy it will be to make and modify reservations. If you have to know the exact days you are going 3 months in advance and there is no way to alter them afterwards then it would suck. I am not a planner, I hate planning, I like...

Outside of needing reservations, this is nowhere near as bad as we imagined.

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

Pent up demand is how Disney has gotten away with the high prices for so long. If the pent up demand was lasting the way they wanted it too, they wouldn't have introduced the SoCal Discount ticket and whatever Magic Key ends up being so soon.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I thought the 15 Euros tier would be for attractions that were E-Tickets, not Buzz. This is just a laughable money grab, and if people go for it, it will prove Chapek right and lead to more of this crap.

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

The only reason Galaxy's Edge turned out as good as it did was because it was approved before Chapek. Chapek still managed to severely cut down the land's offerings though with his budget cuts. I also think that some people in Imagineering just can't write a decent script to save their lives...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

That is fair, and a lot of changes are subjective. As much of a Tower of Terror fan as I am, I will say Mission: Breakout is far better than expected. I feel Mission: Breakout was like the high point of Chapek approved projects though. I think we will see a lot more stuff like Pixar Pier and...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I think there will eventually be a breaking point that people will reach though. If Disneyland ends up changing for the worse as drastically as DCA did in the last 5 years, then a lot of long term fans may lose interest for good. So far, the bad changes in Disneyland(Pirates auction scene...

    News Disneyland Magic Key Program

I have no interest in paying 3000 dollars for access to ChapekLand. That is a good point, and I think it has done a lot of damage to the parks since Avengers Campus is kind of built towards the lifestyler crowd that go for merch, food and instagrammable pics. Chapek is chasing these people...
