Hot takes! Get ‘em while they’re hot! Mmm!

Muppet Vision was always a highlight of a trip to DCA. I like PhilharMagic and think it's entertaining but it's definitely a big step below. The issue really is that the core MuppetVision audience is aging out and younger kids don't have the same connection to the Muppets that kids that visited...

Hot takes! Get ‘em while they’re hot! Mmm!

I have a hot take that will upset a lot of people. I prefer WDW Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain to Disneyland's. In fact, I thought I was crazy in this take but I went to WDW in July and DL in October and came away still preferring MK's Space.

Guide to DLR for WDW Veterans!

Disneyland is running a ton of specials this summer on multi day ticket pricing. I got this from Undercover Tourist but other sites are also offering specials. https://www.undercovertourist.com/los-angeles/disneyland-resort/ The lower pricing is between May 16 and August 14. I'd imagine with...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I'll give you that one. Splash was the best ride at MK. I was at MK for one day in July and was disappointed that I didn't understand the VQ system so I wasn't able to go on Tiana's. I probably won't go back to the MK until the Cars / Villain's land opens (as I live about a 6 hour drive from...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

The difference here is that this isn't a new E ticket. This is a major refurbishment to an attraction that has been around since 1989. It's not a new attraction even though it seems to be billed as such. I've never considered Splash Mountain / Tiana's as must do attractions. In my mind the...

Why is WDW so bad at utilizing their space while Disneyland (with much less space) is so good at it?

I went to MK in July and I’m going to DL and DCA in a few weeks. I LOVE the MK. The castle is amazing, the Haunted Mansion is better, the Jungle Cruise is better, they still have the Country Bears, and I always am able to ride Space Mountsin multiple times without ridiculous waits at the MK...

Five Worst Attractions at the Magic Kingdom

I have a 5 year old and a 6 year old daughter and they love the Speedway. If I was making a "worst" list I'd probably put: 1.) Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters 2.) Astro Orbiters or Aladdin (Dumbo is the best in that category) 3.) Mad Tea Party (although my 5 year old loves it) 4.) Many...

Top 25 Amusement Parks - World

I saw this and my jaw dropped. I'd rank Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and DCA over DHS at present (I've never been to DAK so I can't rank that park). Also, while I love IOA I still believe Disneyland is the best domestic theme park.

WDWMagic Disneyland subforum Disneyland meet-up (in real life) interest thread

I understand that HMH is a more dramatic change. Granted, the 1st time I experienced HMH I thought that it was "really neat" and subsequent times I've thought it was "cool, but I prefer the regular HM". Ghost Galaxy changes the music (which by the way is 1/2 of the Space Mountain experience)...

WDWMagic Disneyland subforum Disneyland meet-up (in real life) interest thread

I agree with this. The truly "ruined" ride is Space Mountain ghost galaxy. They take my favorite attraction at the park and turn it into my least favorite attraction at the park.

Things I wish I would have known / Disappointment in DL

You didn't quite zoom in on the IHOP and Denny's (to the left) or the fact that if you panned to the right the entire TOT (and Space Mountain and Matterhorn) would be visible :). There's absolutely no question that the MK has an amazing entrance. However, DHS and Epcot really aren't any better...

Things I wish I would have known / Disappointment in DL

I'm going to preface this by saying that I think that Disneyland Park is the single greatest domestic Disney theme park. MK in my opinion is the second greatest domestic Disney theme park. However, I agree that Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom do evoke MUCH different feelings. There is...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

What's kind of funny is the difference in directions that WDW and DLR have taken over the past 15 years or so. Part of the complaining is that Disney has basically spent the vast majority of it's domestic capital in California at, what seems like, the expense of WDW. Look at DLR in 2000 and...

The 60th Anniversary of Disneyland: The Reality of it All

I don't think I remember seeing that, and I was at the TOT last Wednesday. It must be new.

Poll: Attractions in which you think the Disneyland version is superior

Would you be able to expand upon the differences? In the interest of full disclosure, I have been on the ride more times than I can count at DL but only once at WDW.

    River Country, the end?

I'm shocked that that Odyssey building has been that way for over 20 years. It really is an eyesore and does look like Disney doesn't care. At least Wonders of Life is hidden in the corner.

Things I wish I would have known / Disappointment in DL

The reasons above are why I love Disneyland. I was there last week with a 2 day park hopper and my wife and and I were able to do many of the of the key attractions (including TSMM, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, TOT, and HM MULTIPLE times) plus have the ability to do...

    Safety in the DLR area

As your hotel is directly across the entrance from the park, in an incredibly well lit area with heavy foot traffic, you'll be absolutely fine. It's amazing how clean and well lit the area on Harbor between Katella and I-5 is.

Poll: Attractions in which you think the Disneyland version is superior

I prefer the following at Disneyland: Pirates of the Caribbean: For obvious reasons. Haunted Mansion: I prefer the mansion building, the fact that the stretching room is an elevator, the corridor from the stretching room to the loading area, and I do like the hatbox ghost (believe it was...
