Movie recommendation: Once - it is a brilliant little story about musicians in Ireland. I think the running time is 1 hr 30 min, but the music is outstanding, and the acting is perfect. It is still running in art theatres, but check it out once it hits DVD, or check out the soundtrack.

I very much enjoyed the book Wicked! (and the musical was outstanding, a must see.) I would recommend any of the books by Gregory McGuire, he puts a fun twist on the old stories. Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister is also at the top of my list.
