Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I had to take a test for a cruise a few months ago and they made it clear that the camera needed to stay directly on the test for the 15 min break. I imagine someone is watching, or is alerted if there’s movement.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

It's just disappointing how quickly this was lifted. I'm more concerned about spreading it to others than I am actually getting it.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

That's the problem though. It doesn't really make me feel a whole lot more comfortable.

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

My friend and I were at the parks over the weekend. Neither of us have had covid but have been at the parks plenty over the past two years. Overall did not like the feeling of so many being indoors maskless. We were wearing ours when inside. My friend just tested positive. So... there's that.

    Teppan edo menu

I've never been to teppan edo because that amount of food in the parks is a bad idea and doesn't seem worth the cost but the fact that they don't have rice is... very odd. It's the staple at every hibachi restaurant. What do they serve instead?

DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

While the boarding groups weren't perfect, at least it avoided this happening. ROTR reliability still isn't good enough to warrant a standby, imo.

Restaurant capacity and live entertainment restrictions are currently limiting Walt Disney World theme park attendance according to Bob Chapek

Last Sunday night I got into the JC line right when fireworks started. Posted wait was 30 mins and I'm not exaggerating, I waited 30 seconds. I get wait times can fluctuate drastically during fireworks but yikes, that was one hell of a variance. And surely they knew it wasn't 30 mins seeing a...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

It's baffling to me how many on these boards have a difficult time comprehending that typical "every day life" is a very different experience than a WDW week. And that's coming from someone who visits the parks about twice a week.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

All of which were likely over the age of 5 and able to be vaccinated. It still feels a bit odd to me for crowded places geared towards families with little kids, like WDW, to just let it rip.

News New 'Ice Age' sand sculpture being built at Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrating new Disney+ original

Guardians is fine (though as someone who has watched nearly all marvel content for the first time in the past year… it’s not my favorite) but it’s position in Epcot is questionable at best.

News New 'Ice Age' sand sculpture being built at Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrating new Disney+ original

The IP's in Epcot work well when there's thought put into it. Rat is a perfect thematic addition. Guardians... not so much.

News New 'Ice Age' sand sculpture being built at Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrating new Disney+ original

AK has never leaned on IP's alone to create good and interesting lands. The Avatar movie did well... in 2009. The non existent/always in development sequels have been a serious trainwreck. But luckily the land is immersive and quality no matter what the original inspiration is. Not saying I...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

I think we'll hear something from Universal first. Remember, they're still under stricter mask requirements than Disney and have always been the first to start pulling back rules over the past 18 months.

News New 'Ice Age' sand sculpture being built at Disney's Animal Kingdom celebrating new Disney+ original

It is, but still over a month away while the Ice Age piece is already live. They have sand sculptures in AK pretty regularly. I don't care about the Ice Age series anymore though I did watch it a decent amount growing up. While it's odd to see that franchise related to Disney, I don't see...
