News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I am more inclined to believe your second thought. They, like Disney, probably have a lot of existing reservations and they will also have to deal with the parks at limited capacity so by putting their prices so high they can dissuade new reservations. And if some one books at $700 a night...

I agree. It's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out

The other unknown at the moment is how many people will decide to cancel which seems to be something Disney wants. If enough cancel that would help those who go. The other variable are AP holders. There are an awful lot of them.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

That may all be true but here is the rub. You can't assume a simple 30 percent. Those numbers are based on every attraction open and working at full capacity. It also takes into account all stores and restaurants running at full capacity. We know that isn't the case. Capacity for the...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Here is my opinion. And it's only an opinion. I suspect that the in park dining reservations will come back sometime after the parks reopen but it may take a while. I think that for several reasons. The first is that they may want to get the park reservation system up and running without...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I'm surprised that no one seems focused on the fact that in the announcement today Disney said no in park dining reservations will be offered but will return at a later date.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Just to add to the fun. Major League Soccer is in serious talks with Disney about using Wide World of Sports to start out their season in July in a similar way as the NBA. They are talking using resort rooms as housing.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I disagree about enough capacity. Based on the fact that Disney is telling AP holders that getting a park reservation may be difficult it leads me to believe that Disney will be prioritizing DVC and resort guests first and then AP holders before off property and other day guests. I also think...

Didn't Disney say they are not modifying any reservations at this time? Only cancellations.

Just to throw this out there. It just may be that you won't be able to make attraction reservations until the day you actually enter the park. Just a thought. It gives Disney some room to tinker and figure each day out.

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

I know that everyone is itching to get back to WDW and enjoy a great vacation. Throughout the past couple of months there has been a lot of conjecture about reopening and such and a lot of it has ended up being wrong. Here is what we know about Disney moving forward:. They have been extremely...

News Jim MacPhee takes on new role of Senior Vice President, Operations at Walt Disney World

Jim is a great guy. Started in ops (transportation I think) and worked his way up. In the 15 years i worked at Disney i worked with and for him several times. It was always a great time. He has always been liked everywhere he works because he cares about the show and CM's. When he was VP...

    Reservations Missing from App

The app can be funky sometimes. If you are seeing the Reservations in the full site you should be fine. You can always call technical support but first I would uninstall and reinstall the app and see if that fixes it.

    Height restrictions

As a former cast member I would add that people should sometimes think about the front line cast members. We appreciate people wanting to give their children a great Disney vacation but if a child who is under the height restriction guideline gets to ride and something happens the CM's...

DAK Flight of Passage Single Rider

When I rode there was no one riding alone. What I saw was the grouper walking down the line asking party sizes and planning on how to fill the seats. When I worked at Soarin we would walk the line for single riders but most of the time a good grouper could fill a theater from the regular...

DAK Flight of Passage Single Rider

I agree. I watched them group and I don't see that many seats go unfilled so there is no need for a single rider line

DAK Flight of Passage Single Rider

Rode last week and no single rider line. The sign was still covered. When we got there the wait time was 155 minutes but I noticed there was no queue outside so we got in line. We waited 55 mins

Using my mothers band and FP

I believe the intent by Disney is to keep people from making more than 3 FP reservations using ticket media that is not being used in the park during the day. I don't believe Disney is looking to stop someone from using a FP reservation made by someone in their party who has entered the park...

    An unpopular FP opinion?

I am not a fan of FP in general but that is a discussion for another time. However, I think that in today's society every business is looking for ways to combat the biggest complaint that they get from customers...waiting on line. Most major theme parks have a similar system as FP. Even the...

    An unpopular FP opinion?

No, there is a policy. Each attraction has a ratio like as an example 20 FP guests to every 4 Stand by guests. So that means the grouper counts 20 FP people and then sends a group of 4 standby people and then goes back to the FP line. I am sure you have seen this at attractions where the 2...
