There is land north of Big Thunder for the Cars area. The charm of Frontierland and Liberty Square will be lost, especially the loss of the Riverboat. A pox on Disney and it's current leadership is warranted.

It's a real shame since the "river" and the island tie Liberty Square and Frontierland together nicely. I'll miss the Riverboat. The Magic Kingdom is losing its charm.

Horrible decision, with the "heart" of both Liberty Square and Frontierland gone. It's too bad they couldn't just dock the Riverboat somewhere for a dinner spot.

I could see them reducing the island's footprint, but not get rid of it altogether. Older visitors love the Liberty Square Riverboat ride, and they use it for a dinner party, so maintaining the island makes practical sense. The riverboat needs a waterway to tour, which naturally means an island...

Remember as well that Coca-Cola and Fanta in Europe use pure cane sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. HFCS is banned in Europe. Really only the US continues to use that abomination. This greatly impacts the taste, and the experience.
