News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

But its NOT 1975! Times and technologies have evolved. We shouldn't strive for the standards set forth 45 years ago. If people didn't demand the airline industry do better in 1975, we would still have the same alarming rate of plane crashes that occurred throughout the 70's. The monorail was...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Of course, I could bring up the point that 3 hours confined in a tight space in the stagnant Orlando August heat can't be healthy for some. But, I'll just be told that Gondolas are very reliable and any rescue attempt would take a few minutes.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I’ve stayed off this thread because people like myself, who are critical of the Skyliner system, have been routinely shunned by others on this forum. Perhaps such an egregious mishap should be an example for others to be more open-minded about those of us who don’t see everything with...

It seems like more competition in the Orlando theme-park space is bad for the consumer.

Because $4 for a bottle of water in 105 heat index weather isn’t price gouging. And the $10 I had to pay for children’s acetaminophen to help my sick daughter wasn’t price gouging. I understand what you’re saying, but defending Disney via technicalities doesn’t exactly progress the discussion.

You’re comparing my apples to your oranges and then saying that I have “false narrative”. I’m not talking AP, I never once did. You obviously didn’t read what I wrote.

It seems like more competition in the Orlando theme-park space is bad for the consumer.

What investment?! Disney invested minimally in the 2010’s. In spite of this lack of investing, profits soared during that same time period. So, again...what investment?

It seems like more competition in the Orlando theme-park space is bad for the consumer.

Disney Parks operating profit increased 100% over the past 5 years. How exactly did Universal impact such a growth?

It seems like more competition in the Orlando theme-park space is bad for the consumer.

“Giving it away”?! Did you go to school for hyperbole? An enterprise that PROFITS over 4 BILLION dollars in a single year is hardly close to “giving it away.” And clearly I’m only considering price in my “schpiel” because it’s the single greatest factor for the wide majority of park visitors.

It seems like more competition in the Orlando theme-park space is bad for the consumer.

So, Disney is just moderately price gouging due to competition instead of completely price gouging? We wanted to spend a day or two at Universal on our most recent trip. Our pricing options for a family of 4 were either $700 for a single day pass or $1,100 for a 5 day pass (they were running a...

It seems like more competition in the Orlando theme-park space is bad for the consumer.

Competition is always supposed to benefit the consumer by keeping companies in check but it seems like in the Orlando theme park space, this notion is non-existent. If either Disney or Universal were to magically drop off the map, I can't foresee the surviving company having much more room to...

Disney Has Lost It's Way - An Article From The Federalist

I'm sorry folks, but the constant up-sell and constant attempt to gouge customers is going to undermine Disney way before the constant inclusion of IP into the parks. $532.52 for a family of 4 for a grand total of 3....THREE "after" hours at AK?! And this price is for SEPTEMBER, one of the...

Experience Renting a Car while at Old Key West

Probably because the busy season has ended. Now that the onsite rental companies have a surplus of cars, they want to rent as many of them as possible.

What is the best ride in Hollywood Studios? (Quality-wise)

RnR, ToT, or TSM. Ignoring the IP, the rides themselves are completely unique and can't be found anywhere else (to my knowledge). Alien Swirling Saucers is a carnival ride. Slinky Dog Dash is actually a very smooth roller coaster, but isn't anything unique. Star Tours was ground-breaking for...

Experience Renting a Car while at Old Key West

I’m not really following any of this....but my original point is that it’s more expensive at the airport because flyers either don’t have a choice (the airlines bring the customer right to the rental companies) or would rather pay the inflated price out of convenience (by renting onsite at the...

Ok. Doesn’t make a lick of sense, but if you say so.

Look at rental prices away from the airport (anywhere in Orlando). The prices at the airport are absurd.

Disney World guests file lawsuit after allegedly eating bug-infested food

No, because that’s why most people go to hospital when they have food poisoning or the Norovirus. There’s nothing magical a hospital can do to cure such an affliction.

Or they needed multiple IVs for severe dehydration? Again, way too much reading into this.

Am I Alone... WDW Food is BAD

I'm not a food connoisseur, I'm a pretty simple guy when it comes to stuffing my face. Dining at some of the "high-end" Disney restaurants, I couldn't recognize half of the ingredients on the menu. So, lets stop pretending that Disney isn't attempting to be in the high-end restaurant space at...

Disney World guests file lawsuit after allegedly eating bug-infested food

There's too much analyzing going on here. The bug accusation simply adds to the idea that the food was dirty or ill-prepared. It also causes a PR-nightmare for Disney. And it's just that, an accusation. The more accusations, the better chance the plaintiffs have of getting something.
