News Disney to heavily reduce Capital Expenditures in the parks throughout 2020 during COVID-19 crisis

As a consumer, can I expect a decrease in prices? (I know, I know...absurd thinking)

    WDW Reopening Estimates

If I could snap my fingers and Covid disappears tomorrow, Disney would be open ASAP. It's all tied together. We are all simply trying to predict the future based on the past and right now, that's all any of us can do. Florida deemed WWE an "essential business". Even if authorities said Disney...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Oh PLEASE prove this figure! I'm BEGGING you to provide conclusive data to prove this. Applying simple mathematics on these figures... 74,121 US deaths / 1,256,669 US infections * 100 = 5.89% mortality rate.

True that. We've been quarantined for 2 months and my state saw 374 additional cases since yesterday.

    WDW Reopening Estimates

It's too difficult to comment either way given our lack of knowledge on the virus. We don't know anything about immunity. If immunity does exist, we don't know if it's permanent, long-lasting or short-term. Regardless of the above answers, I don't see how having a free-for-all solves our...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

My local Home Depot, which is massive, is only letting a certain number of people in at a time. They have these stupid 6 ft markers all over the floor. I go to the lumber section and there is crap EVERYWHERE in the aisles, effectively narrowing the aisle to where people are almost touching...

More recently? I'm not a doctor and even I understand the basics of virology. Vaccines, antivirals or herd immunity are the only ways out of this if we want to eliminate social distancing measures. The nightly news shouldn't have to tell you this. We are social distancing until one of those...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Your entire response hasn't progressed the conversation nor does it validate why you believe the park will open by November. I'm stating the obvious that opening the park will lead to an increase in infections. Disney and the medical community have no way to counter or combat this. This is...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Apparently, you didn't read my entire post (conveniently quoting only the most polarizing part).... As we currently understand the virus, reopening the park will most likely lead to an increase in infection rate. What does "de-escalation" have to do with this?! Mitigation methods are a short...

    WDW Reopening Estimates

A media conglomerate with a near $200 BILLION market cap isn't going to let the parks go out of business. I genuinely believe you don't understand how insane their profit margins are. They are going to be just fine.

6 MONTHS! Please entertain me with why this is "laughable".

How much of Disney World has to be open for you to go?

Too tough to vote without factoring cost into the equation. Do I want to wear masks or social distance? No. Would I for a 50% reduction in price? Absolutely!

    WDW Reopening Estimates

There are way too many factors working against Disney. There's no way these parks open without substantial knowledge attainment of the virus or ability to fight it. Given our knowledge and medical arsenal as of today, no way the parks open within the next 6 months.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Boats and trams aren't permanent structures. A gondola is. They will never be able to add A/C to it nor be able to run it in a lightning storm. My entire point being that perhaps a gondola wasn't the best choice given the above limitations.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I didn't realize you rode the thing in the hottest of summer months. I thought the thing opened at the end of September?! Yes, I would agree that your opinion would have been "informed" had you ridden the thing in the middle of July. But you didn't. So please educate me as to how your...

Because it's not economical to install A/C in them. Which was clearly stated in my original post. So, back to my original question, if A/C isn't a concern for visitors, why is A/C installed in every monorail car and bus?

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

OK, fine I'll amend my statement; Florida is the lightning capital of the United States. My apologies for insinuating that Disney World is in Rwanda. Disney World is NOT in Rwanda. Now that all this confusion has been cleared up...how exactly does that change my point?

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Then why do monorails and buses have A/C? Why not just open the windows?

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

But this is purely your opinion and anecdotal at best. I'm not saying you are wrong to have your own opinion but that doesn't mean your line of thinking applies to everyone else. Passing opinion off as fact doesn't progress the discussion. It's in Disney's best interest to keep visitors...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

OK, but a single sampling doesn't mean the scenario is a safe or ideal one. I mean, did you not see that THREE people were sent to the hospital because of this ordeal? If it happened in the middle of August there is the potential that even more people could have been sent to the hospital.
