News Announced: Mary Poppins Attraction in UK Pavilion

It actually was considered back in the 80's. Was one of the first Disney IP's to be considered for a sizable presence in World Showcase.

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

Goodness, that original pool was sooooo great. Had class and character. And the added touch of music under water….two thumbs up. Hearing them pump in SpectroMagic while it performed at the Kingdom was pure magic. Such a shame they couldn’t have something smaller like this at the new tower.

Rumor Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Amateur hour. Also those shirts are so tacky.

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

You’re most likely right. A man can dream! 😭 Would love for it to be plussed, as it deserves to be, but….

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Maybe a hot take: but a Maleficent roller coaster is low hanging fruit. Villains land deserves better. Just my opinion.

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

The concept art only really shows the bottom half of the RoA being removed entirely. The northern half isn’t clear yet.

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

Fair. But I don’t think their personalities are gone. They’re all there. It’s just less defined than I would like. That doesn’t make this new edition bad or lackluster, imho. I think this is a fun and respectful update. This isn’t putting Stitch, Iago or Zazu in the middle of Tiki Room.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Said my goodbyes to Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Belle/Rivers of America. Magical, old school, exploratory experiences. Getting to show my 4 year old niece around the caves and Fort Langhorn is something I will treasure forever. Something I found to be really interesting though.... The...

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

I caught the new show and really enjoyed it. The lobby additions are delightful. Overall it is a successful edition for the Bears. My biggest gripe is that you never really get a strong sense of each character's individual personalities. They're all a bit too homogenous for my liking. My...

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Fully agree. One of the true PERFECT Pixar IP's. This isn't a quick turnaround from release to parks representation: this is a much deserved large scale treatment for a property that has truly proved itself.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Easily Rivers of America. Bugs was never going to last forever. Dinosaur is a fun time, but is far from a true, untouchable classic. And, while Muppet Vision is absolutely brilliant, we'd be kidding ourselves if we ever thought it would surpass a 40-50+ year run.

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

No disrespect to the Ursula spinner ride, but I hope they don't go the tacky/carnival route with their attractions. That idea was floated for the Paradise Pier revamp and it worked in that context, but the Villains IP deserves something better.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Kiiiiinda sorta, the infrastructure of the set design in the Theatre in the Wild is the exact same as it was with the original show. Some new elements here and there, but its the same physical show space. All reporting of the new Mermaid show is a complete, 100% change.

Phenomenal. I love it. Any and all OG Magic Kingdom references are welcome.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Couldn’t be more different. The Mermaid show is getting a full top to bottom change. It’s a completely different show in a refurbished building. This isn’t a slight sprucing up. It’s a completely different attraction. Same IP.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Correct. And Pandora was more or less viewed as the realization of the "Beastly Kingdom" idea. But with more fleshed out concepts. A fictional culture that honors and cares for its' animals and ecology. Also "dragons" lol.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Deep breaths. I am referring to the framing device of the LAND not the attractions. I didn't say a single thing about the Encanto attraction, which I feel is problematic. The story treatment is a STRETCH. Indiana Jones is different, imho, and it is possible that there can be a real...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Great to hear. The use of “mystery” and depth in current domestic theme park design has been….wanting. Something Harambe and Anandapur excel at. It seems like it will be a worthy sibling to the other DAK lands.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

@marni1971 What're your thoughts on the addition of Tropical Americas at DAK? Do you approve? It's weird that this seems to be one of the few "on-theme" additions coming to any WDW park. Your opinion is highly respected. Especially among so many bad decisions the company has been making lately.
