Insurers are going to have a lot to say about this before it's over too. Can absolutely see them charging a higher group rate for employers without a COVID vaccination policy. All once the vaccine is fully-approved and available for the entire population of course.

And half the adult population is fully vaccinated. Not nearly enough, but between vaccinations and antibodies the damage from Delta might be capped. The problem will lie if/when another Greek letter catches hold.

Another thought: once the vaccine is fully approved, health insurers might start charging higher premiums for those without the vaccine. The precedent is already there for smokers.

It’s possible that full approval may change some minds but I’m not optimistic it will be very many. The same people who mistrust most things government and science aren’t likely to push that aside in this case.

This is an honest question - do you have any people in your life that are anti-vaxxers? I have many, and a good handful of them are not silent about their beliefs, actively trying to convince others not to do it or shame those who have. These are also some of the same people who continue to...

I agree, but I'm not sure I'll be ready to let go of my anger toward those who actively spread lies and propaganda that slowed the rate of vaccinations in the first place.

There are no good reasons, absent a precluding medical condition Irresponsible behavior deserves shame Choosing to smoke around others? Choosing to drink and drive? Every justification for the vaccine is based on bona fide medical research. Plenty of justifications for refusing the vaccine are...

I have a friend who survived COVID last fall, no previous health conditions. Spent 9 days in the ICU, suffered a heart attack while fighting for his life, and it took 3 months for him to be able to walk a block. Still has lingering long hauler issues today. Get the damn vaccine.

I get what you're saying but just a reminder, the original post that set this off: If he or she is not vaccinated I hope it happens soon, but coming in a 12 o'clock high for the "pro-vaccine folks" doesn't give me much motivation to listen to his/her reasoning.

Yes. In our society, people have the right to choose to be irresponsible, when the consequences of their irresponsibility don't extend beyond their own potential harm. Otherwise, laws kick in to enforce responsibility. If someone refuses the vaccine and follows the CDC guidelines for indoor...

I wish they hadn't done this. It's going to give anti-vaxxers another round of ammo. "They rushed the emergency approval and now they're rushing the full approval. Can't trust them! Also, Aliens, Pizzagate and the Illuminati!"

I'm not saying they should lose their jobs. But they should be required to publicize their "take" on vaccines and personal vaccination status, not keep their opinions confidential. Transparency in health care and all that.

Therein lies the most dangerous threat to vaccination rates in America - healthcare professional discordance. Practitioners should be made to publicize their stance on vaccinations for all consumers to see. No more hiding their conspiratorial beliefs in exam room conversations. If they can't...

But 2 hours is bull crap. If the availability is this spread out it should be at least 3, if not 4 hours extra.

I think Delta may be doing that without our intervention. I live in a state with an appalling vaxx rate, and the increase in hospitalizations among the young and otherwise healthy due to Delta has gotten folks here to rethink their stance (which was mostly a political one). I personally know...

I doubt the WHO would advocate for an investigation/inquiry/whatever if they thought there was no chance of a lab leak occurring, but as a measure only to reassure the public it didn't happen.

The only thing inappropriate about my post was saying the vaccine was American-made. I did not realize BioTech was a German company. Pfizer is most definitely an American corporation. So yay for international cooperation.
