If it were being dissolved, there wouldn’t be many people complaining. It’s unarguable that the solution DeSantis came up with to save face, after realizing rushing to dissolve the district without a clue how to do it wasn’t going to work, is extreme.

I think the FD would probably take their orders from the people who actually have money to pay them with.

Let’s go with the idea that the federal courts rule in favor of Disney. Wouldn’t “ignoring it” be a bit like sending alternate electors after 2020? No one in RCID would listen to the CFTOD board, would they?

The problem is that DeSantis had the chance for that and blew it, and now it can’t be done. It’s too late.

Many people posting in this thread are only vaguely aware of the situation and just have the spun up short version from whatever politically slanted source they heard it from.

I think most people have no idea what the details are so they don’t really know enough to form an opinion based on the questions asked. I would be more shocked by the results if someone had to read a few paragraphs about what the district is and what DeSantis has actually done to it before...
