Will ANYTHING ever happen to Discovery Island?

Probably close to the only wilderness left for Fort Wilderness to use. Extreme glamping with actual tents!

    Disney Parks Advanced Reservations (Speculation)

https://blogmickey.com/2020/05/disney-may-make-real-time-adjustments-to-ticket-and-annual-pass-admission-availability-when-theme-parks-reopen/ This piece of news seems to indicate, based on Shanghai, AP holders will only be able to make "reservations" 7 days before they want to go - which...

Universal Puts Disney's Reopening on Defensive

The biggest thing that stands out for me with Universal Orlando's opening rules (besides lifeguards having to wear balaclavas, because i had to google what those are) is there are NOT implementing a reservation system. Apparently it's first come, first serve until the capacity hits. I understand...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

and the rivalry continues... At Universal they mark "where to stand"; at Disney they mark "where NOT to stand". I figured Disney thinks negative reinforcement goes a longer way for guest compliance...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Seems like what's been discussed on these boards, no surprises. Epcot does have the space to fan people out, but unless everything's open, folks may not want to stop by. It will be interesting to see what's decided as far as capacity is concerned. If it were me (and I wouldn't run the company...

Would you visit Walt Disney World with these health-based operational restrictions in place?

Thread name should really be updated to say Will you visit WDW now that these health-based operational restrictions are in place? We can all vote and argue anew!

This. Current events will allow folks to experiment with face coverings of many different types and construction. It’s not one and done. And these circumstances may be around for awhile. (Unfortunately you may not always be able to try before you buy, so don’t be buying the 60 pack size at first)

But they do enforce bag checks since 9/11 - i mean, there's no way folks can get around it or barge their way through. True, it's a security op and not normal CMs, but Disney took a stance and twenty years later have constructed permanent structures for this.

    Masks at WDW

I guess there won't be a huge problem if half the attractions are closed, we'll all be washing our hands every ten minutes, so there won't be much time for anything else. Going through a themepark without touching anything (or your face or your mask) will be quite a challenge. I am all for being...

    Masks at WDW

So, to recap: masks will be a thing at WDW for a time; half of us won't go, the other half will be happy to go. So, I expect indepth reports as well as tips-n-tricks about wearing masks in heat/humidity for many hours. Don't spare any detail! Your experiences will write the next chapter in...

I wonder if this is more - swipe your own card (which i prefer, but the POP is sometimes not bolted to the counter) or if this is- you need to use a magic band or something like apple pay on your phone and that's the extent of all themepark transactions.

So, stay 6 feet away, wear a mask and please, no talking. (Wasn't there a horror movie like that?). It's not like I can understand you when you're wearing a mask anyway.

    Disney Parks Advanced Reservations (Speculation)

That’s my point. I try to stay centered. There’s a lot on these boards about ”if you don’t like disney rules, don’t go” “they’re a business, they are all about money and they’ll make sure the fine print means they can hustle you”. Just like there are those who believe disney can and will do no...

    Disney Parks Advanced Reservations (Speculation)

Well then, i guess i like disney a little less today. If only Apple or Google opened a theme park, i am sure their business practices would be much more fair.

I don't know if I can rip my mask in half and throw it away after becoming so intimate with it for 8-10 hours. After that long it just becomes a part of you.

If/when they do both virtual queues and registrations, where are all the folks going to wait? In their cars? Certainly not in the bathroom.

    Disney Parks Advanced Reservations (Speculation)

I agree there may be "terms" - but nothing that basically says "we take your money and you get nothing in return". That's why it's more important how WDW decides to deal with customers during these changes. I am also not one of those people who believes every large corporation is happy to ruin...
