Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

The point of the mask isn't about your health, it is about protecting others' health. So it isn't about you signing a waiver.

    WDW Reopening Estimates

I hear ya. My guess is: Time = Sometime after 4th of July (who wants that mess when you are starting out.) Who = ONLY resort guests What = Magic Kingdom & Disney Studios Resorts = Monorail Resorts (with reduced occupancy) and a moderate like Caribbean Beach and a value like Art of Animation...

Disney College Program for Fall Advantage Cancelled

I don't think that is accurate. When I was a CM back in 2002 (yes a long time ago, yes numbers have changed no doubt) at Disney Quest, more than 50% of CMs were on the CP. Also, when you think of the math, with 75,000 CMs on site, there are way more than 3,750 CPs there.

Disney to start Furloughs April 19th

I hear ya, we had a week in June planned but canceled it and the flights earlier this week. They are offering free dining for a reschedule to later in the summer, fyi. We are holding off until there is a vaccine. Just can't go to a magnet destination and have a good time while this lurks. I...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

That is actually the exact opposite of how science works. I'm not being snarky. We just can't ever afford to go back to this type of thinking. Stay at home orders, pandemic projections, they should be based on the facts available, the scientific understanding, and the intent to do good...

POLL: When are you planning to return to Walt Disney World?

Really? There will not be a vaccine by then. There will still be people contracting the virus, and WDW is a magnet for people from all over the country/globe. As contagious as this virus is, you would be able to have fun as you touch railings that have had thousands pass, touch, cough on them...

POLL: When are you planning to return to Walt Disney World?

I don't think we would have fun amongst that many people unless there is a vaccine. Too many people, touch points, and close quarters in traveling to be rolling the dice.

News PHOTOS - Construction on some new projects comes to a halt at Walt Disney World

Agree. We are going to have waves of this pass around the world. If it doesn't mutate and if the antigens people who have had it can protect them, then you will start to see a slow ramp up. As someone else said, the WDW complex will start back slow, MK and DHS first, then AK then EPCOT. We've...

Well the crews need to get there, etc. It's about big picture safety, not just on site safety.

End of free bread at table service?

I like the bread service, especially if they have a spicy olive oil with it.... yum. Deleting it also allows them to flip the table quicker.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

A vaccine will not be ready in 6-12 months. Experts say 12-18 months would be unprecedentedly fast. This is more deadly than the flu, flu has a mortality of 0.1%. This is at least 2.3, but WHO's most recent numbers have it at 3.4%.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

Like IASW, I happen to love that ride more than many other modern techno marvels. SSE, is loved by our family far more than all rides mentioned so far. How did we get to this talking about MMRR?

Parking Lot Lighting - Orangery than normal.

Agreed, ridiculously over bright in the MK parking lot. When we were there a few weeks ago we thought "why can they tone those down, make the light poles lower, something." Just so darn bright.
