    Changes to QS Dining

We have just arrived today and immediately had a bit of a shock at our first restaurant (D-luxe) @ DS. We have QS with 4 ‘adults’ - kids are 13 and 10. Apparently effective 1/1/20, your QS entitlements are linked to the type of ticket purchased or hotel reservation and are actually labeled as...

News Epcot Forever to debut as interim show before full Reflections of Earth replacement

Watched it - didn't hate it, but in my opinion not Disney's best work. This comment may bridge over into the HarmoniUS thread (can't justify using the acronyms fairly until I have seen it)... Is HarmoniUS too far along to make changes based on the reactions to EF? Do you think Disney...

    Construction costs...?

So...I was looking at the pics on the site of the show building for Tron with the scrims down (and SM) in the background and I was thinking... What would the cost be today to replicate SM building and all? What would just the coaster apparatus cost (by itself)? The difference then would be...

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Looks like there will be a light source of some type (possibly an LED-based RGB fixture) at each point of each triangle around the globe that would allow various patterns of light to be created as well as "points of light" that could provide a random sparkle effect as shown in the drawings.

News Disney to reveal more about the future of Epcot at D23 Expo 2019

This is true, however...I can also "ride" just about any ride in WDW on Youtube...there is something about seeing it live and in-person that makes a difference. A 25 foot tall replica of a cell tower in the middle of CCE or CCW surrounded by kiosks that allow for interaction and the ability to...

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Almost looks like the main part of the old RC is maintained as a pool area...wonder if the name will be revived as a "water park" serving this particular hotel. The two pool areas look to be much larger/complex than what is included at other resorts. I admit I may be looking at the drawings...

    Price Nostalgia

I can speak from experience. Am in the midst of a driving restoration of a 1983 Porsche...bought it non-running for next to nothing. The majority of mechanical issues I have tackled are result of a lack of maintenance over the years. Fixed, it is back to just about a bulletproof car. Many...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Aplogize if this has been linked already but CNet had this little video posted about the new Big Sky lift that uses the same drive system as Disney. Interesting information indeed on how the system works. https://www.cnet.com/news/take-a-ride-on-the-most-high-tech-ski-lift/

Rumor New nighttime show at Epcot

I sure hope so - we were there just before H-ween and figured early that the speaker pole in our first chosen spot (Norway side of Mexico) was not working. We moved over to the other side of Mexico and of course the pole we stood next to there was not working either - bad show.

News Muppet Vision 3D operating under reduced hours

Just an update - was there this past weekend (Sunday, Oct 28) and our showing of MV3D was packed - I would guess house was at 3/4 capacity (of course the park itself was full as well). Great show - hate to see it reduced.

    Original Epcot In 2018

My kids are like that as well - my 9 year old son in particular wants to go see every movie in WS as soon as we get in (he likes FW too, don't get me wrong).

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

That PRT system at WVU is awesome...Had no idea something like that existed. Shame WDW can't / won't find a way.

What would it take to return to Communicore?

Thanks all for the great conversation. Everyone's thoughts make a lot of sense. Maybe I was hoping Chapek and Iger are actually reading these forums and somehow it might make a difference! -scott

What would it take to return to Communicore?

So - what if Communicore was reimagined retroactively, and the whole notion of future technology was brought back, but in 2018 terms. Could Apple, Samsung, Intel, etc. come on as sponsors and the pavilion be reconstructed as it was originally designed but in a way that showcases the future from...

    MuppetVision 3D Issues

In extending geekza's comments....but not speaking for by any means I am not sure we truly want an 'updated' show...the show may need to remain as it is, since it IS characteristic of the archetype that is mentioned - the original muppet characters that Henson created. I would rather go see...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Here are some I took last week from the line for Barnstormer. Difficult to see but interesting that the site development is awful close to the monorail spur line...wonder if it is somehow 'included' in the design.

    Rumor New Monorails Coming Soon?

Just thinking out loud... What would the cost difference be between a looped system (a la the TTC to Epcot line) vs. a single train back and forth station? I would assume one train versus several and 1/2 of the track (the 'return' part of the loop). Am I missing something?

    Jungle Cruise question

I guess you could say it was a little more 'serious' in '93 versus now...but even then it still had plenty of craziness. I wish I could find my script. In a box in the attic somewhere.
