News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I should correct myself then, I think it's way better than "decent." I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw this morning.

I mean, I just don't how some of you don't see that it's a clear technological upgrade. The AAs are much, much better, even if there are fewer. The set design is more detailed (albeit a different creative direction). Yes, the screen before the lift leaves a lot to be desired but otherwise I...

Haha sounds like I am one of the few who actually thought they did a decent job.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Sorry, it wasn't intended as a rebuttal and in hindsight it probably didn't make sense to quote you specifically 😓 In any event, I am sure Disney did use many, many data sources to make their determinations. For example, how many folks who cited back pain went on to ride TRON or Everest. When...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Wow, according to this thread, Tiana's Bayou Adventure is so bad it should have almost no wait! Can't wait for the endless re-rides!

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Regardless of the nuances, it's pretty clear that Disney is issuing DAS to folks with lifelong, unwavering conditions. Accommodations are always available to everyone at each attraction as needed. We already know that not everyone who needed DAS before needed it 100% of the time. Disney is...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

FWIW, I am hearing that Disney has already made additional changes internally to it's qualifications for DAS. So, I think things will continue to evolve over the coming months and we just have to go through these growing pains together. True, but I'm not sure it would be considered unreasonable...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I think what's off putting the most to some folks is that this really is a two-fold change. Yes, it's to weed out rampant abuse. But they are also absolutely restricting access to a different class of disabled people, so to speak. As in, there are absolutely legitimately disabled people who used...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

And just one final thought on how Disney did this to "make money off of Genie+" -- From what I've heard, Disney does not expect these abusers to purchase Genie+. So, that's completely incorrect. They are most often local APs or CMs who visit very, very frequently so purchasing Genie+ so...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Let's see what the attraction specific accommodations look like and how much friction (if any) guests are faced with. I am told that the attraction CMs are not supposed to ask questions or interrogate guests as it is a public setting and they aren't trained to ask such questions.
  11. Disney Glimpses

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

The real reason is what I just stated above. The guest experience for everyone was completely eroded by these abusers to a point that it was untenable. People talked openly and casually about how "easy it is" to get DAS. And then Disney finally woke up and realized how drastic this accommodation...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Everyone but the DAS abuser was having a bad experience. The standby queue guest, the Genie+ guest, the legitimate DAS guest. A huge number of local APs and even Cast Members took a system designed for the disabled and exploited it so they didn't have to wait in long lines or pay for LL access...

They unequivocally did not do it for this reason.

It's also a little different than say Frozen (where Elsa is dressed like a princess for basically the entire film). Tiana for a huge portion of the film is not dressed that way.

Ehhh...I can assure you that From Justin to Kelly (2003) is objectively a terrible movie.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I honestly think they did an amazing job and while I am not going to sit here and say I wouldn't take Splash Mountain back if offered, while looking at the side by sides, I did notice preferring the new aesthetics over the old. Granted, they are definitely different creative directions but a...

Hmm, though one could argue that MMRR is excellent for the space that it is in.
