News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I've been distancing myself from online discussions about this attraction—and others—because sometimes you need to experience things firsthand. Reading all the negativity only makes it unnecessarily worse. All kidding aside, it's better to form your own opinions based on your experiences.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I would be pleasantly surprised if this was sorted by Friday. I think best case is they will have some sort of contingency with scheduled "maintenance" throughout the day to mitigate the issues ahead of time as best as possible until they can come up with a long term plan.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

FWIW, it doesn't have "so many issues." It's largely just one issue that they can't seem to solve.

From what I understand, the specific issues are not with new hardware. They've used the same hardware in other attractions but with different operating environments. But yes, it clearly was not considered.

The issues with TBA are actually relatively simple but requiring a lot of trial and error to correct. They are related to operating conditions (temperature/humidity).

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

The issue for sure that this is not publicly documented anywhere; only AQR is. I'm not even sure it's internally documented anywhere. Reading between the lines, it sounds the DAS CMs were originally told to say something along the lines of "discuss your situation with the CM and they will try to...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Attraction CMs are reportedly pushing back on in-person requests for return times either by claiming they know of no such policy or questioning the guest to verify the veracity of their request. Sounds like it's a bit of a rough start to this new era of DAS.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

CMs have reportedly been instructed to no longer offer Genie+ as a possible solution to guests who have been denied DAS and instead to perplexingly suggest using the free version of Genie to plan around projected low wait times.

Yes and no. This is a level above preview week jitters. But, it also doesn't matter and they will 100% get it sorted.

The first set of indoor track could use one additional scene. Two would be ideal.

I do agree. It feels like a D-ticket retrofit into an E-ticket's ride system.

I don't think I realized how much the suspense of that lift added to the attraction. In TBA, it's basically treated like one of the smaller more negligible drops and in turn reduces the thrill aspect of it, IMO.

Best one I've seen yet and it actually does change my perception of that first section of indoor track.

The won't. Disney are experts at not admitting their mistakes. This is the attraction we will have for the next 20 years.

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

What seems to be disconnecting me most from the attraction is the music. A lot of people like the finale song but it doesn't really hit hard enough. I think the choir version of Dig a Little Deeper would've been much better. Now that full POVs are available, I am finding myself constantly...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I don’t think anyone disagrees with this. But Disney CMs ask pretty specific questions and when answered a certain way, may disqualify someone from DAS. They are looking for other solutions and accommodations before offering DAS and if the parent/caretaker suggests or indicates that those may...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

It’s not about being “autistic enough” or even having autism. That’s serving as a guide for who is typically approved. In reality, they don’t ask or care about specific diagnoses. It’s about the challenges one faces that are distinctly unique to attraction queues. If you have an issue where you...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Yeah, that's fair. Very unfortunate that those seem to be reserved for prominent moments only where in Splash they were everywhere. Still probably the most we will get in a modern Disney attraction though 😅
