Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

If you are older and/or have underlying conditions I wouldn’t go until there is a vaccine. Heck, my wife and I are in our late 20s and have a trip to DLP planned for this summer for our honeymoon, if we didn’t make these plans a few months ago I wouldn’t go. As much as we love Disney it’s...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Disney World also needs “all hands on deck”backstage cms (painters, imagineers, etc) to get ready for the 50th and complete construction. The last thing they want to do is lay people off of those unfinished projects. The 50th was supposed to be a big deal and now it looks like a lot of it is in...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

You most likely had it. Reports are coming out of people losing their sense of smell. Right now I’m a little congested with a dry cough but that’s it, I’ve had it for a few weeks but it’s really mild, I did take a nap the other day and woke up because I couldn’t breath it was so dry. We’re also...

is that actually realistic? I hear so many people saying this could last 6-18 months and freaking out. Imo this should realistically be somewhat over by mid may-july

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

the first ones to go are always entertainment and jobs like painters and such. Roles like F&B and Merchandise along with Resort roles are likely safe, hours will be cut though. I think Disney was just expecting a 2-3 week quarantine and not something that’ll last months. So who knows

    Disneyworld maintenance is a joke

Afaik Second shift is still around and third shift was too but they probably cut a lot of those hours by now. I left Disney in 2016 so I’m sure it’s changed.

Who should be excluded to help with the overcrowding problem.

I was a cm at wdw for a few years so I’ll give you my best. Disney world caters to first time and international guests. They keep raising prices because people are still buying. It’s pretty simple. The Disney execs could give less of a sh*t how your experience is, all they care about is the $$$...

    Disneyworld maintenance is a joke

I worked at Disney for a few years and it’s mostly because everything is old and they won’t update it. Here a secret I always tell people; Disney world is the cash cow of all the parks around the world, no matter how dumpy or outdated it seems people will always spend money to go there. That’s...

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway confirmed

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

Eisner left Iger Hong Kong which I don’t think to this date hasn’t been profitable other than one year, a numerous amount of flops at the box office (I.e. home on the ranch), a terrible DCA, almost lost Pixar, etc.

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

I see a lot of people on these forums trash Iger and talk about the parks “deteriorating”. Iger was a really good CEO, he saved the company from the mess Eisner left behind. Saved Pixar, revamped DCA, opened Shanghai, brought us Disney+ and approved revamping wdw+Disneyland Paris. I’m going to...

Is this the new standard and am I the only one who sees it?

Central Florida is not as cheap as it once was, people started figuring that out and have been moving in droves for the last 5-7 years. A lot of rich people from California, New York, the northeast and South America have taken it over and priced a lot of people out. Rent and cost of housing has...

Is this the new standard and am I the only one who sees it?

A lot of Disney cms went to work for universal part time or left to go there full time when HP opened. Not really the case anymore. Universal treats employees better, all employees get free turkeys during the holidays to take home which is pretty cool. But that’s about it. It really depends on...

Is this the new standard and am I the only one who sees it?

Oh absolutely, the thing with Disney is people will keep paying for it. I’ll share a secret with you guys, Disney world is the cash cow. It doesn’t matter how awful the service is, ty the parks are or whatever there will always be people willing to pay to come from around the world. Another...

Is this the new standard and am I the only one who sees it?

I worked for Disney for a few years and left three years ago. One of the biggest problems WDW has is the poor management. Instead of hiring from with and promoting cms that work hard from the bottom, the companys been hiring kids straight out of college with little to no experience in the...
