Current News on the possible Disneyland's 4th Hotel

They aren't "beholden" to them as it is! If they don't want Disney to grow, fine. Then there will be thousands less jobs, billions less in real estate development, lower hotel occupancy rates, etc. When Disney proposed the Harbor eastern gateway/bridge project and neighboring businesses...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Yea. One idea I came back to add, the cumulative one, is this, which it seems like you just addressed. Related to my first point. How would different investments have affected the parks, guest experience, attendance, and guest spending? The next few years might give us some opportunities to...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I think it has several cumulative effects on the resort over that course of time. 1.The money Disney spent to develop my magic plus and magic bands, billions, was not spent developing/opening other attractions, creating other value at the theme parks that would have driven attendance. 2. While...

Thanks! I suppose I have only been looking at the TEA numbers for the most recent years.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Attendance has skyrocketed at USH, USF, and Disneyland Resort in the past decade. At walt disney world? not so much. Flat and slight declines when attendance grows by percentage points industry-wide. So when does Disney finally take the blinders off and see for themselves that My Magic + has...

Current News on the possible Disneyland's 4th Hotel

I think even disney themselves have no idea how much demand there will be fore diversions from star wars land and just how much money they'll be making to pay for those things. All this talk about having less investment in anaheim after the elimination of those subsidies. They will need and be...

Disney has had a year of bad press, but this news and this recent news tells a different story!

Main Street Cinema has a new facade

How hard would it be to plant some new baby hedge shrubs? I see them all over the place. Just buy them off my neighbor. They take only 5 years to grow full so, what are we waiting for.

The Neighbor Lady and TP2000 Walk Into a Bar...

Can I write a screenplay about your life? And obviously, I was never aware of your recent health scare. You have been so busy, active, and articulate, one would never know! Keep it up! We're happy to have you here.

Main Street Cinema has a new facade

I dont get that vibe. I think the darker colors bring the cinema from a background, almost unnoticeable building to the forefront, which makes sense, because it is a theater and houses an attraction of sorts. It is more noticeable now. But if this was the only palette on main street then yes...

Main Street Cinema has a new facade

Yea. There is a richness to it that wasn't there before. The burgundy/reds are nice and rich. However, the street right now is full of subtle greens, blues, salmons, corals, pinks, orange and yellow/mustard colors so the overall effect is red white and blue without being too literal and flat...

Main Street Cinema has a new facade

I think the bricks are just painted over. Because if you look at the top corner, the concrete is dark, where the sun is casting a shadow into the crack. If it was all fake, there would be no texture to it and the creases would all be the same color.

Current News on the possible Disneyland's 4th Hotel

The new aerial tramway at walt disney world seems to be growing rapidly. If monorails and trams are too expensive, is this an alternative disney should be looking at to zip people from the parking lots to the esplanade? The tracks would be so short, which would limit their cost. The feasibility...

Principal Author of Anaheim’s Living Wage Law Says Disney’s Not Exempt - OC Weekly

Exactly. Orlando works for WDW because they have been granted certain freedoms from government, regarding things like land use, zoning, and building practices just enough that they have creative freedoms not common around the US. However, Anaheim almost matched Disney dollar for Dollar when...

Principal Author of Anaheim’s Living Wage Law Says Disney’s Not Exempt - OC Weekly

The biggest question regarding a third domestic resort, is why? The less resorts they have, the more profitable the existing ones in the market are. It isn't like they are running out of space in Orlando, are fully occupied, or have fully built out those parks yet. They can barely bother to...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Kind of crazy that they tacked a theater on the front of an E-ticket mountain/show building. Now you have to walk through a cheesy retro pizza parlor to go to outer space, and out through a retro 80s mall with smelly bathrooms to get back from space.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I imagine that THEY imagine (probably because operationally they'll control it) that guests will be guided into the land through one entrance and out the other, or in through both, with one queue coming from Frontierland and the other fantasyland, and that the only traffic freely flowing between...

It's Official: Bugs Land closing Sept 4th.

Liberals would hate it when a tech sector entrepreneur invites them onto a campus where people with advanced degrees are working in highly specialized roles to invent things that make the world a better place? And they meet social justice warriors and peace keepers and environmentalists such as...

Rolly Crump on the State of Disneyland

That would be interesting. Is that large enough to fill in paradise bay, so that the park loses its presentation point (world of color) viewing area? If not entirely, then the east side of the lagoon would offer expansion opportunities for things other than star wars facing the parade route.
