runDisney races - out with the old, in with the new?

And please....please...no Osceola or WWoS. That's why I won't run the ToT Race...it's just boring.

runDisney races - out with the old, in with the new?

A Color type run is interesting...could tie it with a "Wonderful World of Color" Concept..... I'm not sure at what distance you would hold it, or where it would start and end. You would really need a new route to spike interest as much as possible though.

Food & Wine Festival - Drunkytown?

I'm not whining. I'm stating my observation. This is a discussion forum, and I'm responding within the subject of the thread. Don't take offense if I don't agree with you. I've seen alcohol destroy lives, and I rarely drink. Maybe I come from a different school of thought. I don't need to get...

Food & Wine Festival - Drunkytown?

I've attended the F&W Festival the last 8 years or so now, and this has been the worst it's been with unruly drunks. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to want to sample drinks. But when groups come in with the sole purpose of drinking early and often, it begins to create a bad environment. The...

Ever see someone get busted at Disney?

As law enforcement, I'll say that if this guy is trained to use Pepper Spray, he should be trained on what to do next. There are soooooo many things wrong with this video.

Food & Wine Festival - Drunkytown?

The problem is the large groups that have specially made shirts broadcasting the fact that they are going to be drinking as much as possible. We actually left F&W festival for the MK because we didn't feel it was the right atmosphere for our children to read shirts that said "Food and Wine...

    What did you do?

I use Under Armour compression shorts a lot. They are a great help to my hamstrings :) Glad you found something that works!

    What did you do?

Just got back from WDW last night. The day we left, I ran the Brewers Mini Marathon in the morning. It was the first organized race I'd run since April. It wasn't my best race, but I felt good through the run. I want to get focused on running again...it's been too long

    What did you do?

Completed my 2nd Tough Mudder today. The course was much flatter than last year, but to make up for it, TM added designated stations to do pushups, lunges, bear crawl, etc. Made a boring flat course a little bit more fun. I'm not nearly as banged up as I was last year, either. A couple scrapes...

    What did you do?

Last day before Tough Mudder today....taking in all the bananas and carbs I can handle. I know what is involved now, so it's a matter of preparing properly.

'The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend'

We did this once when we race the Everest Challenge. We had to go to CBR to go to the expo, and then back to CBR, to a park, and then our resort. After the race, we went to All Star Sports, then took a bus to downtown Disney. We got lucky, and the driver figured since we were in race clothes...

    What did you do?

Funny thing is that he's sorta the reason I got involved in running in the first place. 8 years ago he had a heart attack. He was a healthy guy before, maybe a few pounds over weight. He started working out, dropped almost 30 pounds, and shows almost no sign of the heart attack. Most of his...

    What did you do?

I ran my 3rd Warrior Dash with people from my work today. The fun part was I got to run with my father in his first ever organized race. It was a great experience :)

1st off - Congrats Nick! I did 5k today. Not a great run, but I was encouraged that I ran negative splits for the first time in forever.

    What did you do?

I was going to start a new thread a few days ago.....I was lacking motivation. I really was spinning my wheels since the marathon, and felt like I had accomplished my major goal. Life was catching up to me lately, and I was in a funk. I decided not to do that, and to do something to change my...

    Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend

I've said before - that glass slipper challenge is perfect for people who want a 2 race challenge, but aren't quite ready for Goofy. 19.3 miles is much more attainable. It doesn't surprise me a bit that it's filling quickly.
