    LA Hotel recommendations

Thanks!!! We're definitely renting a car for the LA portion - its 4 of us. Myself, my wife, daughter and son. We're returning the car while we're at DLR and getting another rental for the drive down to SD. Speaking of car rentals, I just reserved one this morning - holy cow! The litany of...

    LA Hotel recommendations

Hey Folks, So we're coming into California for about 10 days this summer...with the main attraction being our first trip to DLR. However, we've decided to bookend the DLR trip with some LA and San Diego time. We've got the lodging covered in both DLR and San Diego but I'm really at a loss for...

Canadian Lumberjack Show to open at Epcot's Canada Pavilion in early October

Im going to be there the week of Feb 16 and I too am dreading this. I will try to approach it with an open mind, but I strongly suspect after I see it with my eyes, I will be writing a very long and scathing letter to as many Disney executives as I can. I know I might get smacked for this, but...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

This would only be an effective analogy if this project could only be worked on by one person at a time. Not true. Linear production may work for reproductive growth. It makes no sense for large scale construction projects.

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Im not sure your analogies are very good. They're not building a house and they're not working on cliffs. While I suspect that there are restrictions as to what they can do during the day, there's plenty that they aren't doing. Truth be told, 90% of the pictures of seen of this project have...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Think of other projects that were built there in one year. This is an embarrassment.

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

Thanks for the great response. I agree with all of it. I guess my main point is the inverse of yours. You can't analyze change without context -- so you need the actual numbers. I agree that actual numbers, alone, don't clearly illustrate growth (which, I agree, is what Wall Street is very...

    A Spirited Perfect Ten

I love your posts and most of your graphs....I think nearly everything you post is practically spot on, with very little exception. This one bothers me though. I tell you why -- An astute reader would realize that the Y axis is a percentage of revenue -- not actual revenue. Graphs like that...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

I disagree. Will wdw's guest numbers double without the park adding demand? They certainly didn't get uni style boosts out of NFL and they need to add serious demand for people to want to come in the numbers that you're thinking. That means serious attraction upgrades. I don't see that...

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

This is only the case where max capacity is reached....a limit that I doubt is approached often. So in the majority of times, it will indeed serve to reduce congestion around the hub.

Oh yeah! Look at that! I stand corrected!!! Thanks for this!

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Btw, I'll add that I do see water coming through on the other side in one of the pictures, it's just not a lot, since that duct is so high.

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

I recall from earlier pictures, the duct is fairly high up on the bridge wall....and I'm just guessing here, but the water level in these new pictures appears lower than I expect it to be when this phase is complete.

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

@GrandCanyonConcourse thanks for the pictures! Sadly, it seems to me that there is no way they are going to complete this phase before mid-february. I may be wrong, but it looks like the two or three shovel-ready guys they have working this project have at least 4-5 months of manual digging...

Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

Here in NY, the week surrounding Presidents' Day, is a vacation week for public schools. Since the schools shut down, most private and parochial schools also shut down.

PHOTOS - Polynesian Resort DVC construction

Thanks, reading this, I strongly suspect DVC preparing people that they intend to make these the most expensive studios (in terms of dVC points) anywhere on property. Tikiman has already suggested that the bungalows will go for 150+/night. These will be similarly inflated. I thought they were...

PHOTOS - Polynesian Resort DVC construction

So...does this mean there will be no 1BR and 2BR villas in the DVC longhouse retrofits? Just studios?

    The Spirited Back Nine ...

Is this observation specific about Pop Warner? Or in general? If it's the latter, I am convinced that the more expensive WDW gets, the nastier its guests will be -- because the more people spend on the same product, the more demanding the customers will be to ensure that the product is...

Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

That wasn't the premise that was argued. It was argued that the start date was *beyond* disney's control and entirely up to the contractor based on the contractor's availability/timeframe....and that's just not plausible. If Disney doesn't give two hoots about tearing down the hat during...
