Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

Well stated! The 2-line system really pushed standby waits higher and higher whenever there were more fastpasses distributed than the attraction could handle - and this happened ALOT more in recent years.

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

Yes exactly. The problem with fastpass is that everyone has access to it. It's not an advantage or a value-added feature at this point.

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

Ahh, Thanks for that. Your links clear it up... So taking you're bucket idea, is this what you're thinking? That there would be a base number of FPs for everyone, and then the genie users and paid users get a certain number of additional? Kinda like: Bucket A (Genie guests) - X + Y...

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

I might be a little behind on the vernacular. What do you mean by Genie guests? I thought this Genie thing was just a new name for the MDE app on your smartphone (I presume Im wrong?)

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

This is probably going to be a hugely unpopular opinion..... ...but I *strongly* welcome the idea of a premium/paid fastpass (maxpass) system. We've all debated the drawbacks of FP+ ad nauseam...I've been of the opinion that the system has been an abject failure for several years. The end...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Wow. I had no idea. Is it because of COVID or future world (de)construction?

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I laughed out loud heartily when I read this. Then I paused and got a little concerned you were telling the truth. Great to find WDW fans on twitter to fill my feed. Just followed you!

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

LOL! Great point! I'm about 12-15 years removed from needing car seats, so forgive my ignorance in that respect. I clearly didn't factor that into this. That being said, the families I was referring to in my above post are just as removed from car seats. Their calculus is literally being...

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

I do. without knowing the details of WDWs contract with Mears, I suspect the pricing structure is a combination of fixed/base and variable costs. Like a flat rate plus an increased factor for each passenger or bus that goes from MCO to WDW and back. Perhaps, due to covid, the reduced number...

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

Thats certainly part of the calculus as well....and those families are free to make such a decision. However, what I was referring to was the knee-jerk reaction that the loss of DME immediately destroyed the value of staying on property - without any calculations of the cost of rental cars...

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

You'd be surprised. I personally know of several families that have hard-shifted their planning in light of this. They, flat out, will stop considering on-property lodging after 1/1/22, knee jerking out an assertion that losing DME makes on-property lodging no longer worth the extra cost...

A sequel? Nah, not this one

This! Management agendas drive survey steering. Like I said, it's been done for as long as I've been taking these surveys.

A sequel? Nah, not this one

Responses in guest surveys have been restricted for as long as I've been taking them. That's a fact....and there have been plenty of scenarios where parks management does not want certain answers, so those answers are not provided as choices. We're talking about a company that has sabotaged a...

A sequel? Nah, not this one

With respect, Disney guest satisfaction surveys haven't been actual surveys in over 10 years. The questions are targeted and the response choices are limited. They're designed to do nothing but feed a confirmation bias maintained by Disney management...nothing else. Has anyone taken a guest...

    Disney's FY20 Q3 Earnings (8/4/20)

With respect, this isn't a clear description of how depreciation is used in business accounting. Modern accrual accounting requires a matching of expenses and revenues within the period - and depreciation is a necessary component of that. Depreciation allows you to spread out the cost of an...

    Cash-Strapped Disney

Forgive me for asking this question - as I don't think I fully understand the requirements of the licensing agreement between OLC and TWDC - but how does WDW and DLR announcing a retheming of Splash impact the splash at TDL? Is the OLC required to retheme as well, under the agreement?

    WDW Reopening Estimates

Im not reading into anything. I'm reading what is being presented. There's a huge difference. His body language suggests that he's uncomfortable giving any information beyond what he is allowed to say. Some people hide it better than others. He clearly struggled. The implicit information in...
