What the heck do you theme the coaster trains to...cautiously excited for this project but I have no idea what to expect

I think that's been shown to be referenced in the queue that has various "props" from different Mickey Cartoons. Looks like there might be a physical vine above the entrance that will transition into being part of the painted backdrop which would be cool

To my eye, that drop off looks exactly like the launch up into the building. Could be wrong but the slope looks right to me

Agreed. I had some small quibbles, the resolution on the headsets weren't perfect and such, but overall it was really fun and a great way to introduce someone to what VR is capable of

Didn’t connect the dots but I bet a reason this is back on the table is that the guys down the road have a VR broomstick ride that’s rumored to be fast tracked. Disney maybe doesn’t want to be left out in the cold without a cutting edge VR experience

I think this ~could~ make some sense in tomorrowland if they lean heavy in the 80's neon arcadey-ness of it all for the exterior and queue and leave the sugar rush and more fantastical game hopping for the attraction experience itself. Aesthetically a classic arcade and Tron make a lot sense...

There is a whole park and it's truly spectacular. It's so small, but they do a fantastic job creating small little envelop worlds that completely surround their attractions. VelociCoaster is heavily inspired by Taron also at Phantasiland and if you haven't seen it I highly recommend checking it...

This tech was developed for Disney. It's what is used for the spinning on Cosmic Rewind. I think any kind of flying coaster will always be too extreme for Disney's taste sadly

Yeah I don't believe Jim is right with these rumors. Sounds like a mix of assumptions and old info. If anything it seems like the DL version is going ahead first, not WDW

Highly doubt it would be Wifi controlled. Trackless rides use that system because the path for an individual car can change from cycle to cycle and vary depending on the state of other vehicles, so you need to be in constant communication with the central server. These trains here will perform...

For the record, I'm hopeful for this project and generally think MBO and FEA were well done. You're also totally right that when you go through those rethemes there isn't a trend of getting rid of physical elements for digital ones. That being said, I think some of the concern people are feeling...

Sure but that looks potentially like a screen element. Even if that nose is physical, I think we could be seeing a much more complete version inside the gravity box

A shame. Hopefully we eventually find out what happened here and it doesn't spell doom for the other Void locations. Why Disney would take this well reviewed experience that synergized with popular IP and seemingly pull the rug out from under them just makes no sense
