News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

A slideshow of 50 photos is now up at the OCRegister: https://www.ocregister.com/2019/05/29/inside-disneylands-star-wars-galaxys-edge-these-50-photos-show-you-what-its-like/ I wish the embargo would apply to the pictures taken during the CM preview! I had some photos taken in front of the...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

One observation I enjoyed during my visit (to my surprise) were the seamless transitions from land to land. I was initially worried about how Star Wars would mesh with the rest of the park. The transition from Frontierland is really well done - the old frontier theme and rustic look of both...

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

An Another good thing about the preview we went to - absolutely no strollers in sight anywhere!

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Hm I don't agree with a lot of what he says but some of his points are valid I guess. For example, a portion of the queue for Smuggler's run is indeed very narrow and enclosed. It's also very long. I don't have a problem with enclosed spaces so it didn't bother me, but the group behind me did...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

Actually there is another aa in hondo’s room, he’s a droid located below hondo. after doing a quick google search, I believe his name is r5-p8

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

To me it seemed about the same quality as Star Tours as far as projections go when I rode it.. just my opinion, I don't know anything about how it compares technically to star tours. So if you think star tours looks like a video game then you'll probably feel the same about smuggler's run...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

It's definitely real! I wonder if that was a CM that recorded it or a guest of a CM. If it was a guest, would the CM that accompanied him/her still get fired?

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run - Ride/Queue Details and Discussion

I definitely noticed the smell in Hondo's room! It smells like rubber or grease, not overwhelming but the scent is definitely there. And yeah the cockpit isn't that dark, it's lit well enough so you can see all the buttons and switches around you. And even though I thought they did a great job...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

The queue entrance is located next to the the front left section of the falcon. After going in you walk around the back of the falcon, so you pretty much do a half circle around it before going inside a warehouse (not sure of the official name).

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

Regarding the setup to pay - I guess confusing is a better word than strange. The marketplace shops are very small so I'm not sure why they placed the cashiers along the entrance/exit of the store. What this means is that the only place to line up to pay is outside the store along the main...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

A few other thoughts that come to mind. I really enjoyed the ride experience of Smuggler's because of how "real" it was designed to feel. From the second you step aboard the cockpit, you can feel the shaking and humming vibrations of the whole vehicle. The projection looking out of the cockpit...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

I wish I had an answer for you but I honestly don't remember hearing it while I was there. I only heard it once before so I don't think i would've recognized it even if I did hear it - Sorry! I should clarify I did the ride once in the general standby line and two times in Single-Rider. For...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

Nope, it feels like you’re so far away from the rest of the park because of how tucked away it is behind the trees and rocks. You can’t see outside at all except for the second floor of the smugglers run queue - the highest peak of bttmr is visible. Then nice thing is it actually blends in with...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

Just left the CM preview. My quick thoughts are.. smugglers run is so much fun! Rode two times as a pilot and once as an engineer. Both were fun but I preferred the pilot experience. It’s a bit distracting to keep looking away to find the light up buttons to push when you’re the engineer. You do...

News Sleeping Beauty's Castle to be refurbished

I may be wrong but I think that was also used for some of the laser equipment installed for RDCT. I remember seeing lasers shoot out of there for the Star Wars sequence. Perhaps they reconfigured the lasers and now they shoot out of a different location? Hopefully they weren’t removed altogether.
