    Disney Dining Plan..... worth it?

I was NEVER allowed to swap an appetizer for dessert! I would love to know the restaurant that allowed you to do that!

    Disney Dining Plan..... worth it?

We used the dining plan twice when they offered "free" dining. Loved the convenience, but we are more appetizer type people rather than dessert, so we ended up paying a lot for appys, wine and tips that it probably wasn't worth it. With the new FP+, trying to schedule meals around fastpasses is...

    Prior trips

Can someone tell me how I post my previous trips to Disney at the bottom of my threads? Also, how do I post pics?

What lessons did you learn from your first WDW trip?

First trip to DisneyWorld was 1991. Has gotten more crowded every year we go. Used to stay off-property, but will only stay on-site now! Planning ahead is a must and we try do do something new on every trip - stay in a different hotel, splurge on an expensive dinner or some sort of other...

    Spring Trip.

One of our best trips was the last week of April. Flower Festival was still going on, crowds were manageable and the weather was gorgeous!

Not happy with the plan, would you go anyway?

We have been to Disney many times and have gone with family and non-family. Disney is too expensive not to be happy. Speaking from experience, if you feel resentful now, it will get worse when you are there. Every little petty thing will irritate you and will ruin your vacation unless you make...

    Best Time to Go.

We went in Sept for Food and Wine. Love F&W and the crowds are not bad but it was hot, hot, hot and rained 6 inches in one day. Not normal Florida storms-it rained all week! F&G is the best time to go even though the crowds may be heavier. Beautiful weather! Next best time is second week of...

    Wasting FP+

We went to Food and Wine in September. It was our first experience with MDE and FP+. We had the same issue-they make you reserve 3 FPs but we didn't want them all. I made most of them for the a.m. (Except 7dmt -the only time I could get was 2:30-3:30 and I checked every day for 59 days and no...

    best Disney planning books

Hands down "the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" is the most comprehensive book out there. I purchase one almost every year because things change often at Disney. They have touring plans you can cut out and take with you to the parks. Also for an extra charge you can get wait times...

What are the crowds like mid-late Jan?

If you are ok with avoiding anything that has water you will be fine. Crowd levels are good, but the parks close early and you will need jackets, maybe even hats! We live up North and heat bothers us more than cold, but I still prefer (late) August over January.

Staying outside Disney? What Are We Losing?

I am a Disney "Nutzi!" We used to stay off-site and never felt like I missed anything. We used to get annual passes so we didn't pay for parking and got 10% off Disney merchandise. In the past few years we have stayed on property and took advantage of free dining. We just got back from Food and...

Trip Report spur the moment trip

Good for you. Same for us. We are also from NJ. 20 minutes outside New York City. My husband lost his 2nd job 18 months ago and I didn't land that public school teaching job I thought I would. So even though things are tight and we are facing college tuition next year, we decided to splurge on a...

Decisions Decisions!! Should we go in August or November??

Only you can decide whether to take your child out of school. We have done that during Jersey Week even though our district frowns on it. We have traveled to Disney in both August and November. August is very, very hot, but believe it or not the last time we went in November it was actually more...

    Dining Plans: Worth the cost?

We are going to Disney in a few weeks for the food and wine festival and got a Disney package that included the "free" dining plan. I had difficulty getting times I wanted at the restaurants I wanted. Prime dinner times were already taken when I booked in May! Because we are going during food...

    looking for info on DisneyQuest

We went to DQ once about 7 years ago when our daughter was 10. A couple things were fun, but for the most part it was dated and boring. We are going to Disney in a few weeks and got those vouchers for 2 free passes to DQ. We also got vouchers for 2 free rounds of miniature golf. In my humble...

Hopping from AK to EPCOT questions

You are absolutely correct. We have never visited Disney during the busiest times so we have no idea what it is like to be there when they close parks due to crowds. November is a great time to visit. Our favorite time was toward the end of the food and wine festival. We hate crowds also and...

suggestions for a room around Brunswick, GA?

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn in Brunswick, GA in 2012 on the way to Disney. It was clean and nice enough but they don't offer breakfast. And according to Trip Advisor reviews, looks like the air conditioning is not working well. Regardless, we are going to stay there again on our way to the...

Food & Wine for First Time

We are also attending F&W from 9/22-928. We have been at F&W before but never did any seminars. We got the free dining plan this time, but as I am scheduling the meals I think we are all going to come home 10 pounds heavier. I understand that they let you you use your snack option for the food...
