The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

People are using real world examples to highlight Disney’s shortcomings. I don’t think it’s being hi jacked into a cedar point discussion. If we were talking about their new chicken shack, then maybe, but I think it’s fair to point out where Disney is being “outshone” relative to cost of...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

They don’t really use that IP in parades or shows outside of the children’s areas. A miss I think. They really don’t use them as park mascots.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

I don’t feel like capitol expedetures that should have been made years ago really count as “anniversary plans” they are things they need to do to add capacity (or refresh existing attractions). With the entertainment options, it’s more “lateral moves” than adds. I guess it’s just time to expect...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Sorry we are using the efforts of smaller regional parks with less resources to highlight the penny penching efforts of one of the worlds largest entertainment conglomerates. Should we use Disney’s own history against them? Like a 30th anniversary at Disneyland that had the gift giver...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Stylistically Magic Happened and Festival of Fantasy are over the place. At least Soundational had a clear, singular design language that unified the parts into a greater whole. Magic can’t even decide which song it wants to use as it’s theme!

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Where it “blows them out of the water” is, in addition to multiple show stops, it uses an original song, creative float themes that are relevant and timely (based on the park icons and history for an anniversary-not just pulling established IP imagery) , is well populated, fun and interactive...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Thanks for sharing those. It looks great. The only video I found on a quick search was more of a family kid dancing in the street. CF and CP nailed it on this.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Yeah, I guess it’s asking too much of a worldwide media conglomerate that has an almost endless catalog of IP and sone of the most creative designers anywhere to actually step up and create something amazing. we’ll just leave that to the regional operators who have to liscense all their IP (so...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

And brought over Magic Hapoens. A parade that looks like it was designed for the blue/gold 50 AND uses a snippet of the song from the said resorts 25 anniversary. It actually FEELS like an anniversary parade. Would’ve been perfect time to bring back an updated, all new spectro as well since...

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Between this and CARNIVALE parade across multiple properties this year, Disney has shown its really more about cutting costs than safety concerns. Keep it up Cedar Fair, you are making the mouse look pretty weak right now (for 1/3 the cost)

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Honestly I’m embarrassed for Disney that they are being shown up by cedar point in the anniversary parade competition.

The World's Most Magical Celebration - Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary

Every time I see this gold/ irredentist decor I still think the opening units of Magic happens was part of a new 50 parade design, or there was a thought to use it for this. Just way too similar and easy to connect together fir cost saving Disney not to have had some of that thinking somewhere.

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Right??? For the money and effort sunk into these floating monstrosities (pun intended) they could’ve been a long way into building permanent infrastructure that was housed on the existing and even additional islands. Even developing hidden “docks” for things to hide in plain sight during the...

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

I love the “you defend it you must be related” attack. Very fresh and inventive LOL. And you can have your opinion, but you have no idea how much I know or don’t about WDW so your immature attack is ill informed and pointless. Talk about people that take this whole site way too literally.

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Right, and they do integrate "seamlessly". They are minimally intrusive fixtures in a finish similar to the alcubond panels of SE. They dont protrude on sticks or long mounting arms like a lot of architectural lighting of rounded surfaces. They are custom designed to create lighting effects over...

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Yes, there will be one giant "ON OFF" toggle switch on the ground with all of the wires running from the crazy glued on lights, out of the seams to it. A guy named Jayson will stand there every night and flick it on and off in time to the music. When he is off, It will be Ramona. They are in...

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

LED lighting can be installed with minimally invasive cabling and use a lot of fixture to fixture daisy chaining for runs. That’s the beauty of it. Data cables and power cables can easily be run through the space between the layers and then grouped into entry points into the building to the...
