How much does your average Disney World vacation cost?

This next trip is going to be very pricey because we are paying for our daughter, her husband and two grandkids as well as ourselves. The baby will only be 13 months old so she will be eating from our plates, flying as a lap child and won't need a ticket. That being said, the dues alone on a...

    Considering DVC

If you have contracts under different UYs, they're considered to be separate memberships. You currently need to purchase 150 direct points under one membership in order for that membership to be eligible for Member Magic benefits.

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Nothing being taken away? So the RoA and TSI aren't on the chopping block? Dumbo has no height restriction and Jedi Training isn't in MK. I find it hard to believe that older kids are "alienated" by Dumbo. Try harder.

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

It won't matter if the height requirement is too tall for them. The high-thrill coasters like Velocicoaster, which so many seem to want, have height restrictions of 51" or even taller, which kids hit around 9+ years old.

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

But as the most visited park of the four, wouldn't it make more sense to improve the draw of the other 3 as opposed to increasing the draw to the MK?

News Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

As someone with young grandkids, color me "not thrilled" on this. A villains land sounds great but not at the MK. I would have preferred to see it at HS (not sure where within its foot print) because that park needs more attractions and it's already more appealing to older kids. But given how...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

TBA will be a T1 selection under MultiPass. It is currently a VQ.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Wouldn't that give onsite guests another advantage since they can enter 30 minutes before offsite guests?

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Oh, I believe that the blending of the two programs is intentional. I don't believe that they intend to allow "day of" modifications of T2 to T1 selections in the long run. That's a surefire way for power users to suck up all of the T1 selections early in the day. They just haven't worked out...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It strikes me that MultiPass is some sort of hybrid between FP+ and G+ with certain aspects of each were retained because it was just easier to program it that way in order to be able to roll it out quickly. My guess is that this loophole will get closed rather quickly and the end result will be...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

That's my take away. Without the 120-minute rule, you cannot stack LL for later in the day. You can have 3 LL at any given time but can't get another until you use the first one.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

😞 I hope that your DD continues to qualify.

They will most likely get one of those DVC rental companies to comp them a stay in one of their hard-to-unload confirmed reservations in exchange for a 30-second plug during their "how to" video.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I don't think that G+, nor this new system, are good substitutes for how DAS functioned in the past for a lot of people. But the old DAS isn't coming back. For us least, being able to pre-book 3 selections is something that we can work with. It sucks to have to pay for it in order to enjoy a...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

How many times have they re-invented G+ only to revert back to what amounts to paid FP+ ? G+ changed at least 3 times that I can count without Googling. Probably more minor tweaks.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Sounds like an improvement over G+ but I'm cautiously optimistic. The real test will be how much (more) they will charge for it.

Beach Club during Holidays - thoughts?

I don't think that BC rooms have microwave ovens and they might have beverage coolers as well. The DVC studios and villas at BC definitely have microwaves and I know the villas (1BR and 2 BR) have full fridges. The studios may or may not have mini fridges.

    Rental question

DVD (the developer) has only declared 30 cabins into DVC inventory at this point. More will be declared as sales progress. The remaining undeclared cabins will not be eligible to be booked by DVC members using points but will be made available for cash reservations thru Disney. What this means...
