    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Might as well put this here amongst the three threads going. I didn’t watch any videos going in, but read some of the conversations. Overall, while I can understand some of the criticisms, I don’t get the “TBA is a huge screw up!” takes. I would say for folks familiar with Splash, this could...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

11:41. Just called my number 8. Folks going in. Update: For those scoring at home, BG called at 11:41, on the ride by 11:56, off the ride at 12:15. Two delays on-ride, right before the main drop, one at unload.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

As of 9:20am, the estimated callback for my Boarding Group 8 has jumped to 11:35am And since the Boarding Group window closed right when it was official it wouldn’t open on time, this could infer that they closed it when it was obvious it wouldn’t open at rope drop. Doesn’t bode well for the...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

I wonder if they restricted AP reservations enough so that they could be ready to allocate VQs to everybody with a reservation? Then, if operations are going well, they can release more at 1. In any event, group 8 feels like a win.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

While most of the time I genuinely enjoy the ability to instantly view and discuss every tiny update to the parks, sometimes I long for the simpler days of showing up and being surprised by new rides.

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

While I’m ecstatic to see the animatronics receive updates, the IP decree still saddens me. I get why they are doing it, but it still … saddens me. Disney used to create world class theme parks. Now I guess they create world class Disney themed parks.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Has this “return through the LL” been officially confirmed? I think we’ve seen a comment from a CM (or the relative of a CM) who has gone through training that this would be how it was handled, but that it might be ride/queue dependent. For that matter, do we know if they have started the...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Fair enough. And looks as if, with the lack of ILL, everybody is going to be playing the G+ and/or VQ 7am button dance each morning, at least until things settle down.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I’d love to hear the internal rationale for going to VQ during AP previews, vs. the previous previews during which one could select specific dates and times. This really handicaps out of town APs. So, even though I have an AP and was lucky enough to snag a park reservation during the system...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I love that mist effect. And at the same time, I hate myself for being so jaded that my first thought was “Oh, well, that will be the first effect to be broken and/or turned off.”

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Nice! I always enjoy those queue radio atmosphere settings. Of course, the most important thing in the queue is whether or not those sweet, sweet air conditioning cannons in the ceiling will still remain. Standing under those is truly magical.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Seriously, I had it done 15 years ago. Still 20/20. Wish I had done it sooner.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

When this info came out, I sent a note to Disney’s Disability folks, asking for clarification. Here’s their form letter, which repeats a lot of the same info we’ve already seen. But here it is: “Thank you for your message to the Walt Disney World Resort regarding services for Guests with...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

*sigh* We had almost one entire, glorious week of discussing all the possible expansion info that dropped last Thursday. I bet the Marketing folks are pretty ticked at the Operational folks (whom I assume are the ones who decided to drop these DAS changes). If only the left hand had worked...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

This. I’m interested to see what their “return to queue” strategy is. If they could magically transport me from a spot in line to a bathroom stall and back, I’d wait in Standby every time. But as somebody who, before getting DAS, has frantically jumped over queue chains in an attempt to get to a...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I’m guessing there was a massive increase in the number of folks whose accommodation was immediate bathroom access. The new rules and statement about a “return to queue” system seems to support this supposition. And if true, this decision would then be low hanging fruit for removing the most DAS...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

While I am an old school Disney fan, I have begrudgingly made peace with the fact that Disney’s choice in new attractions will be 1) only IP based, and 2) determined by streaming numbers But it actually brings joy to my heart to see this board return to actually nitpicking over new rides, vs...
