News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

This is me. Sure, it's a style of FOMO I guess, but it was never a question of if do it. Other than financial ruin or other life problems, Galactic Starcruiser was in my future. Now it has to be in my immediate future. I've had a dozen friends tell me they were shocked I wasn't there the...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

Got a booking for my family of 4 on 7/8. Anyone is welcome to call me a fool, but I am 100% the target audience. Elder millennial, two income household, well over six figures with my salary alone, been Disney fanatics since we were both kids, and I have RotJ Luke Skywalker lightsaber tattooed...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

While that's partially true, I had always planned on going, even at the $6k price tag. My boys are 7 and 9 right now, I was hoping to wait another 2 years and go Summer 2025. Disney just forced my hand by failing so hard on pricing it to people who don't have lightsaber tattoos.

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

I've decided to book it since it's now or never.... My travel agent has been on the line since 7:06 AM. Still can't get through.

    New Summer 2023 Ticket Offers

Can you still get a Park Pass reservation with the ticket? I think that's the big question. If not, then no 7 AM ILL or Genie+.

News Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations for wage increases, healthcare costs and more

This is the same argument we've read with negotiation for at least a dozen years, if not 20. The company does need new blood, but if you believe this is a symptom of that, then the problem has been the same since Save Disney. And maybe it has...

News Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations for wage increases, healthcare costs and more

It is over the top, but there will never be a wage that stops that accusation. It's just the nature of the beast, but it gets very tiring every 3-5 years to hear how terrible the company is.

News Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations for wage increases, healthcare costs and more

I can't wait until 2024 to hear how $23 an hour is povery wage and Disney should be ashamed of themselves for not paying more even after the union got what they wanted.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I wish everyone really believed this. We'd hear a lot less complaining about workplaces and 'bad' corporations and more actual quitting.

News Disney World Cast Member unions to begin week of negotiations for wage increases, healthcare costs and more

So they're rejecting a nearly 7% raise. Does anyone know how long this contract would stay in force? If it's 1-2 years, thats not a bad percentage. If it's longer, then maybe not agreeable.

Disney Parks office-based employees begin returning to work locations

If you think I meant IT troubleshooting PC problems, it wasn't. That can definitely be outsourced. I'm talking about employees with graduate degrees in engineering and science with jobs that require 15 years experience to even be considered. Not your IT guy with a help desk certificate.

Disney Parks office-based employees begin returning to work locations

This isn't always true. I work a highly-skilled engineering position almost entirely from home. Companies have tried to outsource these jobs and can't get the quality needed for nuclear or highly sensitive designs when compared to ABET accredited graduates.

The Saber Forge: Savi’s Hand Built Lightsabers

I built all four styles over four trips in the first 2+ years of operation. Three at the $199 and one at $220. Unless a fifth style is ever released, I don't see myself doing it again, especially with more price increases. Definitely a premium experience but $500/hour even tops private tour...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

We need a Spaceship Earth fireworks show to replace Harmonious. Projection map IP on the globe with movie soundtracks... How could you not love the idea?

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

No matter what 'side' you fall on, i think that's something everyone can agree to.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

By very careful negotiations and agreements before a single shovel ever hit dirt, with a company that was bleeding money and near bankruptcy after EPCOT overages and a failing studio. The Disney of today wouldn't, and hasn't since, agreed to a similar deal.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Since 2019 was their first year of profit in over a decade, I think it's safe to assume they've lost money over 2+ years of a pandemic.
