I usually listen to a variety of stuff, but the old standbys are Adventureland BGM, Innoventions BGM, Soarin BGM, and Epcot Entrance BGM. Beyond that I'll bounce around to various on ride audio HM, PotC, SSE(JI and JD versions), JII(original 90's version), Soarin, etc...

That would make a lot more sense honestly. It doesn't make sense that they would just totally scrap a high capacity ride that ties to the entire theme of the park. Maybe they will refurb/update the ride under the new agreement.

There isn't really a "scary" ride in WDW, IMO. But as far as thrills go, I'd say ToT or RRC. Dinosaur is thrilling in because the dinos are in your face and loud. Its not scary in the least, might make you jump a little due to the loudness, but nothing else.
