Appalling state of the monorail cabins

A rip in a seat is not a health issue. Mold though, is a health issue that should be taken care of when noticed.

Really??? How do you hit a monorail with one of the tractors? But I am glad to see that they are in the midst of starting the system automation/upgrades.

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

I'm not saying that we choose to have filthy and working monorails, it is just what we are dealing with... For the way I see it is that Disney has their focus on keeping the monorails in working order, with a less focus on the cosmetic stuff. The primary use of the monorails in transportation...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

Although everyone on this thread is throwing Disney under the bus for their bad upkeep of the monorail cabins, Disney does a wonderful job maintaining the monorails as a whole. When the monorails go into the shop at night, constant work is being done to the monorails. The work is just mechanical...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

My bad... Yes, there are only 10 monorail bays and 2 monorails get left outside at any station on any given night. Disney should build another smaller maintenance bay off of the Epcot beam that could hold maybe 4 or 5 monorails. Increase the fleet size to 16 or 17 and then they don't have to run...

And if Disney was to add a 13th monorail, they would have to built another maintenance bay... So that would take easily about 2 years and by then, the entire system will be in such disrepair that they need an entirely new system.

Disney cannot simply add monorails to the system because it is soooooo expensive and Disney has their money stuck in places like Avatarland, Downtown Disney, etc. right now. By adding more trains to the system, you have to build more monorail beams which cost roughly $1 million per mile and each...

Here is the difference between monorails and airplanes. It is a federal requirement that every 6 years, airplanes be completely stripped down to the bone and checked inside and out for even the smallest of details. This process takes roughly 5-6 weeks to complete. If every 6 years, Disney lost a...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

The thing with airlines is that their fleets include hundreds of planes and they can easily take planes out of service for maintance and overhaul. The same goes for the resort rooms. Disney has thousands of resort rooms, making it not such a big deal when they have to close parts of a resort to...

Appalling state of the monorail cabins

My hope is that Disney is planning on a monorail fleet upgrade in the next 5-7 years. The original Mark 4 monorails lasted roughly 19 years which was a really long life span (for constantly and daily run monorails). The "new" Mark 6 monorails are going into their late 20s, and are starting to...

Rock Your Disney Side - 24 hour character party at Magic Kingdom

I wonder how many monorail problems/delays they have had/are having/will have... The express beam is open for 26 hours with no closure; The resort beam is open for 22 hours and then 20 hours with a 2 hour closure in between; The Epcot beam is open for 17 hours and then 20 hours with a 2 hour...

I'm on the My Disney app and I'm looking at wait times and for quite a few rides (Ex. Walt Disney World Railroad, Space Mountain, and 7DMT) it says "temporarily closed"... Does anyone know what that means?

    Upcoming/Rumored Projects

I think that once the new hub is finished at MK, Disney will really shift to the rumored Carsland (if it is actually true) and MK won't see any more major changes for a while... I would love to know what Disney's next major project will be after Avatar is finished... Personally, expanding the...

Yes, the track has been shortened (I believe when Mickey's Birthdayland or whatever was put there)... I would like to see it be lengthened though.
