    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

Those childless adults...many will eventually have kids... I mentioned this elsewhere, but it's a point I think bears repeating ;) - my kid and I go to Star Wars Weekend at LEGOLAND Windsor every year - this year was the first that we walked past JTA (or whatever it's called here) while it was...

The Beautiful Game - World Cup Chat

Yes, Shrek had something interesting to say about that, too: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2664640/Wayne-Rooney-England-need-nasty-streak-cynical-like-Uruguay.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 The "quien es mas macho?" (sorry, my system won't do accents or...

The Beautiful Game - World Cup Chat

I have a girlfriend who dislikes football, but says she'd definitely watch if all the players were forced to compete in their national dress. Those lederhosen would chap...:cautious:

The Beautiful Game - World Cup Chat

I know! Despite saying (out loud) that I knew that Portugal would level the match...inside I had begun to hope... If I weren't so utterly hopeless at tech...I would attach (?) an e-mail that DH's niece sent to me yesterday AM. It shows Ronaldo (in all his waxed and man-scarad glory) and Clint...

The Beautiful Game - World Cup Chat

Late start this morning after last night's ex-pats' "ex-party". Oh, how close were we to showing that *winker* Ronaldo the EX-it?! Don't know what commentary everyone else had...but for me the best line of the night (BBC) was ..."Ah, Nani...a brilliant career ruined by a ling brain injury."...

Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

Good point about the size of the theatre, the M&G madness reveals the current level of interest... But thinking forward - there should ALWAYS be a third show staged (whether in the PT or in the AIE location). Frozen now, and then...when the next hit comes along...that one. A smallish show can...

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

Oh, Azkaban would be FAB! UNI has committed to an older demographic and as such, I would love to see something that tries to be PROPER scary. Halloween Horror Nights are a massive success...I think people would go for Azkaban (or another TRULY frightening - Dracula? - attraction) in a big way.

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

This made me giggle. It's like watching Robin Hood (the Costner one) - they land at the White Cliffs, and then later in the day they walk across Hadrian's Wall...on the way to Nottingham...??!! England is small, kids...but not that small. ;)

    Dear Disney, please fix...

Dear Disney, We visitors from Europe say: Please offer a 24-hour pool at the Deluxe Resorts. When you are jet-lagged and getting up at 4:30 or 5:00 it is FAB to be able to go down and swim laps for 45 minutes. It makes for a great, energising start to the day - I love to watch the sun come up...

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

At the St. John Boutique in Chicago (Michigan Avenue) - husbands get a full bar, leather furniture and a flat-screen telly to enjoy while their wives shop. The liquor helps with the sticker shock! Seriously, I went looking for my wedding outfit here - my brother (with me at the time as we were...

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

Hmm...the last time we were at SeaWorld, we went to see the new (to us) Turtle Trek. The pre-show room fronts a massive aquarium. There is a (miked!) CM offering all sorts of interesting facts and information about the marine life on display. I enjoyed what little of it I could hear, because the...

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

This is also exacerbated (profoundly) by a language barrier. When a larger and larger percentage of visitors are non-English speakers - the stretching room "words" are just Musak. To be talked over...loudly. :( So Disney can legitimately say, "See, no one pays attention to the Host these...

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

Yes. Absolutely. And to me this all ties in with Disney's recent-ish decision to gear so many in-park offerings to families with very young children. For many, if kids still need that mid-day break it IS DEFINITELY worth it to stay on property (especially at a monorail/Epcot resort). And when a...

    The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

You are preaching to the choir! There's a brief conversation about this going on in the merchandise forum - here's what I said there and a bit more...;) When we visited in 2012, our total souvenir haul from WDW consisted of: an imagineering DVD, a Darth Vader squeezy toy and a bag of salt-water...

Frustrated- all the stores are the same!!

This is SO TRUE! When we visited in 2012, our total souvenir haul from WDW consisted of: an imagineering DVD, a Darth Vader squeezy toy and a bag of salt-water taffy. When I compare that with some of the hauls from previous trips... I always do my shopping on the last day, and I felt a bit sad...

Spirited Spring Break News, Observations & Thoughts ...

^^^ SO TRUE. In addition, Annual Pass Holders bring "fresh meat" into the parks. If you live in Southern California, Central Florida (or, you know, LONDON)...you will get a lot of friends and family coming to visit (hooray...). We have English Heritage, National Trust AND Merlin passes...

    Which deal would you take?

OK - Will you have a car? I L-O-V-E AKL (Boma, Jiko AND Sanaa next door...drool). It is a stunning resort and always feels so lovely and cool (it has a sort of Pan-African Wilderness Lodge feel to me) after hot parks. I stayed in a standard there a few years ago and would go back in a...

VIP Table at ESPN Club - Yea or Nay?

Yeah, thanks - I saw that entry...and I did call. I just wanted to hear someone's 100% objective opinion after shelling out the $$$. A big difference between reading about something and EXPERIENCING it. Just ask anyone who's ever spent a night in an NHS hospital...;)

VIP Table at ESPN Club - Yea or Nay?

OK, as some of you know - I am an American ex-pat who has lived in Europe for many years. I will be bringing DS (7) to FL this autumn to holiday with my lovely mother. (English) DH is staying behind in London so football is allowed! We will be in WDW on an Sunday in October...and I would like to...
