Disneyland 70th Anniversary Thread - Wishlist, Rumors, Speculation, Announcements

I'm seeing purple, pink, blue, and gold. Doesn't look like the trans flag at all to me. But I do understand that seeing things that aren't there in order to spark discourse and outrage is a hobby for some people.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Apparently they let a lot of Cast Members ride today as part of ride testing. My buddy rode it and said it's completely identical to the Florida version. He said they entered from the exit though and the entrance and queue apparently isn't done yet. He described it as less exciting than Splash...

and don't be so sure it won't be better. We haven't seen the finished product yet. We've seen the old one, and it's also just a huge wall. 😉

Definitely an upgrade. Next they will be defending this for the sake of nostalgia:

    News New Parade: Magic Happens

When did they ever say it was ending permanently? The DL daytime parade pauses every year when the holiday seasons begin. Then it usually comes back after the new year. Disney hasn't given any indication that Magic Happens is retiring permanently. What makes you assume that?

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Anyone know what time of day the virtual queue 12:00 PM drop "sold out"? I checked around 2:45 PM and it was still available. Curious what time it finally sold out. They're currently boarding up to group 478... which is wild! Never seen a virtual queue go that high 😳

    DLR D23 Discussion & News

Wow, what a disappointment. We already knew about the Avengers E-Ticket three years ago. We also already knew about Toontown and Tiana. Magic Happens is a parade we've already seen but glad it's coming back. All we got in terms of new announcements were SanFransOkyo food court replacing...

    DLR D23 Discussion & News

Earlier Josh said we would "come back to Disneyland in a bit" so there is still more to come for DLR. Hopefully Tomorrowland, but feeling like it's a Frozen related announcement.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Anyone else notice that in the Disney Parks Blog post from this morning, they mention "At Disneyland park, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be in New Orleans Square, which allows for the opportunity to tell even more Tiana stories." Sounds like confirmation that Tiana Splash Mountain is being...

Disney Genie/Genie+ On Their Way to Anaheim

This isn’t true. The week before Christmas I purchased Genie+ and booked a LL for Space Mountain. I had time to kill before my return window started so I rode it through Single Rider twice while waiting. Then rode it a third time using my Genie+ LL. I don’t know if they’re still offering...

News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

These are your opinions. Valid ones, but not everyone necessarily agrees. I especially don’t think the average guest agrees. If you’d ask the average guest which version they prefer, I’d almost guarantee they’d all say the new one. Average guests are Disneyland’s target audience, not us.

News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

The old version of Snow White was downright embarrassing. It was old, tired, and confusing. The plot, if there even was one, was not at all clear to the average rider. The new version goes through each step in the actual plot of the Snow White film and resolves with the happy ending it sorely...

News Disneyland to give Snow White’s Scary Adventures dark ride a major facelift in 2020

Have you ridden the ride? The Evil Queen is still very much in the ride. She can be seen peering into the Dwarf’s cottage window. She is seen again in her very own scene at the mirror with the transformation effect, again at her cauldron poisoning the apple. She’s seen a final time being pushed...

    Disney's Over-Reliance on Smartphones

My family is made up of a lot of tech-savvy, frequent phone users. They all love the phone & app usage at the parks. Mobile order is a favorite of theirs and they’re loving that it’s been expanded to the Confectionery style stores for sweets & treats. We also love the virtual queue. We have...

    Disney's Over-Reliance on Smartphones

88 people shared their opinions by voting on this poll. Each day at Disneyland, there are TENS OF THOUSANDS of guests visiting. That’s every single day. Folks can have opinions about any aspect of the Disney park experience. That’s fine. They can share them here. That’s fine too! But to say...

    Disney's Over-Reliance on Smartphones

A sample size of 87 members on a Disneyland forum where most members are old-timer Disneyland purists is not an accurate representation of the general Disneyland-attending population. Nor is it a “significant segment”. The majority of the population uses their smart phones for nearly every...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to begin Standby September 23rd

True! But everyone was waiting for big 6 hour waits that never happened. I think it’ll end up just like any of the other big attractions in their respective parks

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to begin Standby September 23rd

True, but Rise’s wait time was still on par with other headliner attractions pretty much all day. Even in the same park (Slinky). So regardless of how busy the parks are, there doesn’t seem to be extra demand for this specific attraction like everyone predicted. But it’s only been one day, so...
