    Big Figs

I have two - the Enchanted Tiki Room, and the lightning bug from the MSEP. Both have cool light-up effects. I'd get more, but I can barely move in my Disney room as it is...

No park music on Disneymania 5...

If you don't have this one, I highly recommend it: http://www.magicmusic.net/album/043/ GGG by the Barenaked Ladies is great, as are many of the the other tracks. And Tim Curry doing Davy Crockett may be one of the funniest things I've ever heard :ROFLOL:

Le Cellier - dinner menu items at lunch?

I've found WDW restaurants to be very accomodating if you ask politely. For example, I've had Kona's fabulous Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes for dinner on occasion :slurp:

    Le Cellier vs. California Grill

Do you want good food, or are you just impressed by a view? Because the California Grill may be the most overrated restaurant at WDW. It's not bad, but so many similar-level locations have much better food (Jiko, Citricos, Le Cellier, Bistro de Paris, Artist Point, just to name a few).

    Saratoga Springs thoughts/opinions

We stayed there in December, and really enjoyed it. We specifically requested a room in the Congress Park area to be close to Downtown Disney. The room was nicely appointed, the view was great, and the walk to DD quite pleasant. No problems with noise. Bus service was fine, except for one...

    Big River Grille or Spoodles?

They're both fine. I think it depends on what you are in the mood for. We tend to go to Spoodles more mainly because they are on the DDE and Big River is not. However, Big River has some excellent beers, and the food is good. Spoodles has gone downhill a bit since they dumbed down the dinner...

    Anyone try IL MULINO yet?

The rice balls weren't bad. I posted a comparative review a little while back: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=155158&highlight=il+mulino

Desperate for Song Of the South DVD

Well, I have a real copy (Japanese import laserdisc). Yes, I know I got hosed when laserdiscs went out of fashion, but having a pristine digital copy of this one still makes it worth it. And as a bonus, you can select an alternate audio track - I gotta tell you, there's not much funnier than...

    House of Blues Gospel Brunch???

Went once several years ago, and were disappointed both in the quality of the food and the set-up. Maybe it's changed, but haven't seen anything to suggest that it has improved. The food in the regular restaurant is pretty good, though (the skillet cornbread is a must-have).

Hello all new here and wanted to know about All Star Suites

Stayed there in January. They are nicely appointed, and having the extra bathroom for the kids was great. No problems with the bus transportation. They are overpriced, though - if you can live without the kitchenette (a microwave, sink, and small refrigerator), then two connecting rooms are...

    January 2008 Marathon?

Uh, they've been released since the day the last one was held. The Goofy is already sold out. Marathon Weekend is January 10-13 (half marathon on Saturday and full on Sunday). More info available at...

Does the Dolphin/Swan have a Concierge Level?

Yes. Not worth it, IMHO, especially if you are going to compare it to the WDW hotels. Mainly because the hours are much more limited and the offerings less (including having to pay for any alcohol).

    Il Mulino

Finally had a chance to eat at Il Mulino, the new Italian restuarant at the Swan that replaced Palio. It was an interesting experience, especially because 1 week earlier I had eaten at the original Il Mulino in New York City, which IMHO is the best restaurant in the world (it is truly worth the...

    Season Pass Question

If you're a member, you can get them at any AAA office in Florida at a slight discount.

    Alfredo di Roma Ristorante Closing?

Well, not much of a loss if true - mediocre food and poor service. Disney's never really had any good Italian food in the parks, so any replacement probably won't be better, though. I'm just hoping Il Mulino turns out to even approach the excellence of the original in New York (which may be...

    Jellyrolls

Just my opinion, but Howl at the Moon out by the Convention Center is better.

    Beaches and Cream

I've had Big River's burger (very good), but tend not to go there much because it's not on the DDE. Beaches and Cream has great food, though - in addition to the burgers, they have great onion rings, too :slurp:

    Mini Golf: Preferences?

Our experience has been that the Winter side of WinterSummerland (there are two courses there) is the best for kids. I don't know whether this is true or not, but it seems to be a little easier to get a good score on that one - when we last played it, it seemed that more of the holes sloped...

    Western Way stench...

Actually, one of the things I noticed on the marathon this year was that the smell wasn't nearly as bad back there as in past years. All the more surprising since it was ridiculously hot that day, which I had expected would make the smell even worse.

    Hoop De Doo

For those so inclined, it's also all you can drink beer and wine. And it flows pretty freely - last time we were there, the waitress even insisted on giving us a last round in to-go cups. Good thing we were staying on-property and didn't need to drive anywhere...
