I've said my peace and argued my opinion plenty yesterday in this thread, as have many others. After all that has been said, I see no solid reason to change it. The current atmosphere in the country has stirred a quick moving storm that seeks out what can we pull down, deface, occupy, remove...

No because this has not made it that far along the planning process. If it was, SM would not re-open or already have a close date on the calendar.

Yet three years after the final release of the film... they opened the ride. How does this say they knew the ride had problematic elements?? They knew continuing to release the movie was not what they wanted to do... yet they came up with a ride with theming and elements that focused on...

I would love too see how "they knew" there were problematic elements when it opened. Please do share.

Still have my doubts about it being a year in the planning process. The change.org petition to convert to Princes and the Frog and this news coming out a few weeks later does not support a long running plan to convert it. Also the statement that Imagineering still has to get back into...

Isn’t the Frontier inclusive of all land west of the Mississippi? Both northern and ‘southern’ regions of the United States. ‘The South’ does not only mean the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida.

And that may happen, since they just gave life to this internet petition. Give it a day or two and you may see calls for Disney to go that extra step and close it before reopening their parks to show their true commitment.

Bingo!! This was not in the planning stages for over a year. It was an executive decision with a quick but beautiful piece of art put together to announce the change and head off any opening day headaches.

So one released painting qualifies the re-theming as stunning?? Wake me when there is more to this... will probably be months before a schedule is released cause imagineers haven't even rolled up their sleeves to plan it out yet.

And there is the problem with today.... everyone is offended by something. Where does this stop?? What will be next on the chopping block? I heard IASM has alot of racial/ethnic sterotypes. Maybe that will develop into another change.org petition. In this case it does not use the direct...

There are other ways to mitigate bad press... also they could use the money they are NOW planning to spend on this re-theming and use it for films, education, and other causes that support positive culture change. Changing the theme of this ride will not win the hearts of millions... it will...

But it won't be a new attraction... same ride system, just new theming, sets, and paint. Is this really worth the $200+ million that it will require to design, build, and promote?? There will be very little ROI on this.

They said they've been working on it... but its political speak. They also said Imagineering hasn't been inside the rides to perform assessments of what to do for the new attraction yet. Its real easy to come up with some artwork like they did because they have the talent to do so.
