News Walt Disney World launches new seasonal Water Park Pass

I would hope if they ever do that it includes a dramatic overhaul of the TTC - it's stuck in the 90's and really needs a refresh.

News EPCOT's Harmonious to be replaced with new nighttime spectacular Luminous

IF that music is accurate it’s the most EPCOT sounding thing they’ve made in years. It gives me a lot of hope for this new show.

News Happily Ever After fireworks show returning to Magic Kingdom in 2023

Yes there are - but this was a special service that I think ended in 2017 where you could pay a fee for your entire length of stay and use special in-park buses that bypassed security and dropped you off in the park instead of at the bus drop-off. We are very big users of the park-hopper feature...

News Happily Ever After fireworks show returning to Magic Kingdom in 2023

I actually thought it was a great idea and wish they'd bring the in-park hopping bus back. I would pay the $29 for a multi-day ability to get on the bus in a park and be dropped off in another park. It was an upcharge that I thought was worth it, not overtly expensive, and didn't impact anyone...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Except Disney themselves have admitted that their attendance is down at WDW. It was in their investor's report they gave when they reported on their last quarterly earnings. Just because the lines are long doesn't mean attendance is up - it means they're most likely not running at full...

Only if they bring back the roasted half-chicken and green beans.

Unless they're trying to get you out of a somewhat empty resort into a more full one. For example, if they can get x number of people out of a value resort, maybe they don't have to use a section/building, which saves money. They can get you to spend a little more by moving to a moderate that...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

We were there for Thurs-Mon over Labor Day weekend, so August 31 - Sept 4 and stayed at WL. For us, the resort was much quieter and you could clearly tell they were on reduced staff. For example, QS was rarely packed, but there was always a long line to order. One person working Mobile order and...

So Florida residents can get a 4 day park hopper for $68.75/day, or $275. That same ticket is a $705 ticket the week of Thanksgiving on the website. If you’re a Florida resident that’s a $430 discount. But tell me again how the parks are business than they’ve ever been.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

This wasn’t from Adventures by Disney - it was from the same group that sends out the post-park stays and specifically noted it’s about my recent trip to WDW. The email noted there will be no sales pitch and they will not attempt to sell any product during the call:

Interestingly enough I received a request to consider taking part in a live moderated focus by Disney Destinations. It is 90 minutes and if selected they will provide you a $200 Disney gift card. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Someone is giving the research group a budget for sure...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I have to disagree again. People didn’t get angry about something free they didn’t get. People get very upset about PAYING for access and then not getting it. For example, if a ride was down and you had a FP for it maybe it wasn’t great but you didn’t have to go stand in line for a refund like...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Have to disagree. G+ just causes more lines at guest relations, angrier guests because they’re not getting access to things they feel they paid for access to, and frankly is just one of many examples of how they’ve been value engineering the parks for the past few years to extract more and more...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

They could have easily eliminated the hyper planning part by going to a max pass style system like they had at DL versus FP+ and the 60 day window. It could have been day off or day before planning. They chose to do a money grab instead plain and simple. There is nothing superior about G+...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Actually my issue is they are charging for something that used to be free, and delivering a lesser product for it. I can't plan in advance, I have to pay for it day of (so I can't even work the cost into my budget planning for the trip because they decide what the cost is and announce it the...

The ice cream sandwich is a tradition for me and a very guilty pleasure. I always have one per trip. It used to be one per day but it’s now down to 1 per trip.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Hard to pay for G+ when an ice cream sandwich/bar is now $6.25. I about stroked when I bought one a few weeks ago. I felt like I noticed significantly less people in the G+ lines this trip than in the past but wasn’t sure if it was true. Very interesting to get confirmation that fewer folks...
