Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

Been awhile since I've posted on this thread, but It appears I have another anecdotal data point to add... I came down with a mild fever yesterday, along with some congestion and overall felt very tired. This afternoon I took an at-home Covid antigen rapid test, and the results were positive...

News Disney mask policy at Walt Disney World theme parks

Disney has not taken the lead on messaging or mitigation one single time during this whole debacle, why would they move swiftly now? They have been following precedent set by Universal and others with almost every change.

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

On one hand, I appreciate the connection. On the other, if it's as obvious a connection as it seems like it's going to be, it will make it that much harder for me to make peace with the loss of RoE. For instance, if they went so far as to quote a musical phrase or motif from the RoE soundtrack...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

This reaffirms my (admittedly snarky) point. HEA is less of a story and more a ''montage of montages" arranged in the predictable linear progression of a meta fairy tale that can't commit to the weighty moral narrative found in the real deal. The soundtrack skips around like mad, covering as...

…and that effect is going to work from about exactly one viewing location. Dead on center Showcase Plaza. (Well, dead on-off center since the Stargate isn’t even centered lol)

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

I think it’s pretty interesting that whoever produced this video went out of their way to make sure every ‘non-show’ beauty shot of WSL in this video - interview backgrounds included - completely avoids the hardware eyesores.

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

As we saw the very first time masks showed up - people seem to be getting the message here in Orlando and taking action even without official guidance. All anecdotal evidence from my observations, but I went into a Wawa near downtown Orlando late the other night and every single person of the...

News Disney World's character cavalcade showtimes are now listed in My Disney Experience

It’s a pretty strange world we live in when Cedar Point is running a high-production-value evening parade for their 150th Anniversary season, while Disney can’t even re-mount an already existing production in Florida let alone throw something together for their 50th…

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I’ve found that it’s much better for my mental health to accept reality for what it is rather then attempting to force my personal expectations of ‘normal’ onto a life of constant change.

    Return to normality tracker

Raglan has had full entertainment since the day they reopened in early June 2020, including dancers. The choreography was heavily modified initially at least to accommodate distancing, and they didn’t do things like ‘lessons’ for the kids for obvious reasons… I haven’t seen the show in a few...

    Ep(icuri)cot

Food at Epcot festivals is notable for the wide variety of somewhat unusual things you may be able to sample in close proximity to each other. Rarely does it produce anything truly remarkable from a foodie perspective. Solid, typically, and for many perhaps experimental… but most of the...

Rumor Canada Far & Wide refurbishment

There is absolutely no excuse to sideline a World Showcase attraction… of which there are not that many to begin with… and replace it with food kiosks. Even moreso when there are countless other venues around the lagoon that could easily accommodate with a little creativity. Some of them even...

News Disney Very Merriest After Hours

Back in the early 00’s, it was a common enough thing to run Wishes at 7pm with a 7pm close for day guests and then party fireworks later in the evening. I can remember that happening during the holiday season and for the short lived Pirate and Princess party.

    Typhoon Lagoon Rumors

I believe Blizzard can’t normally accommodate buy-outs as there’s not a full lighting package in the park. Typhoon is the only one capable of night operations. With the closure of Wet n Wild, Typhoon is the closest thing in the industry to being a ‘historically notable’ water park. If it came...

News Reflections of Earth confirmed to be replaced by Harmonious

What, they have to spray down everything prior to a show so they don't light the expensive new barges (that were designed to be in the middle of a fireworks show) on fire?

Rumor Canada Far & Wide refurbishment

Covering up the signage in a very hasty way is just bad show and I agree feels very ‘off’. That’s not a common practice to my knowledge - most attractions maintain their place on directional signage even through long refurbs or seasonal closings, don’t they?

    Typhoon Lagoon Rumors

Has Blizzard been hitting capacity any mornings? If not, there’s probably not much urgency to get another water park online.
