    General Star Wars News

This franchise is so washed up it’s not even funny. You know what episodes 8 & 9 succeeded at doing? Killing any general audience interest in this character.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

Inching closer and closer to the inevitable Marvel/DC crossover movie(s). Alan Smithee’s dying to have another credit.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

Finally saw Wild Robot, pretty good and better than anything I’ve seen from Disney in ages.

News Disney raises price of Walt Disney World Annual Passes

Have always thought a DAK AP would’ve made sense. Pump up attendance at that park, appeal to locals who like animals and the vibe more than the Disney brand.

News Disney raises price of Walt Disney World Annual Passes

You act like the pitiable APs are compelled to buy passes and visit. If they don’t like the prices and value, they’re more than welcome to walk, like some of us have.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

Nonsense. Eisner in the 90s was responsible for hiring major architects for WDW, Burbank, etc., Miramax, inventive E-tickets, DAK, the list goes on and on.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

You mean the guy who was Iger in a Halloween mask? Who cares, the new Iger will be same thing. What’s been memory-holed is how ambitious the company used to be before Bob.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

Lost power west of Orlando around 11:00PM. Part of the neighborhood kept power until about 2:00AM but they’re down now. Winds are still howling over here and have been pretty consistently for 3+ hours. Very curious what the scene looks like in the morning. Easily the worst wind/rain storm I’ve...

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

Personally wouldn’t put a lot of stock in weather apps when it comes to wind forecasting. Main point was local stations seem to have adjusted for stronger winds in the Orlando area.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

For those keeping score, WFTV is saying Polk can expect 90+ sustained and Lake/Orange can except 75+ sustained. Those are higher numbers than what the local stations were saying yesterday.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

It’s buried a few pages back, but their path maps aren’t accurately matching their county-specific forecasts. The Cat 2 over Orlando map can’t be right if they’re forecasting a Cat 1 at most in Polk. ETA the current WESH forecast for Orange:

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

WESH was showing sustained winds in TS range for Lake, Orange, further east. That’s not “hurricane strength” across the state. Main issue seems like it’ll be power outages and flooding in places that are prone to that.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

Sustained or gusts? WESH showed TS-Cat 1 sustained in Polk. Sustained winds in Orange won’t be Cat 1.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

The 24/7 local Orlando coverage can feel like sensationalism. WESH just showed a map with Cat 2 over Orlando, which is absolutely not the case if they’re also saying Polk can expect 70-80mph sustained winds.

    Hurricane Milton coming to FL

As many college folk can attest, the stretch between Ocala and the Turnpike is one of the most maddening roadways in the state.

Threat title could be edited to say 10/9-10/10 since it now appears to be late Wed to early hours Thurs.

Something to keep in mind this week, Charley was a Cat 2 when it passed through Orlando in 2004.
