News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

My understanding - this could be incorrect, but my understanding - is that Bluey’s significance to Disney+ would be hard to overstate. It outshines every other show on D+ in terms of viewership, and it’s not even close. This is not a cute little cartoon that Disney will smile and shrug at if...

From what I’ve read those with the strongest work ethic might be tempted to go elsewhere, as I think Disney tries to cut costs by cutting employee hours or sending them home whenever possible. I’m only getting my info from message boards though, so it could be wrong.

Come to my Disney Christmas Dark Ride!!

I get that, but I think a huge amount of the cost still comes from having “higher tech” animatronics with multiple functions.

My concern about Villains is that it looks like tons of grey rock work in the concept art. Hoping Disney gets out of their monochrome era before it’s actually built.

Have not been to Gideon’s, but I think Insomnia Cookies has ruined me for all other store / bakery bought cookies forever, so I might agree in that sense. They have no equal!

Come to my Disney Christmas Dark Ride!!

I mean realistically that $200 looked just fine to me. If they can do that for a couple hundred, surely they can make a cute, serviceable animatronic for under a thousand. I don’t need it to be the most lifelike thing ever, I just want more of them.

Come to my Disney Christmas Dark Ride!!

On the one hand, this makes me realize how hard it is to “wow” people with dark rides these days, when you can buy an animatronic for a couple hundred bucks at Home Depot. On the other, this makes me wonder what the heck is going on with the super sparse animatronics on pretty much anything...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

This is a very cheery and wholesome scenario. Alternate take: if you wave a bunch of toys in front of overstimulated children exiting a ride, at some point they will start screaming bloody murder about how they need a $40 remote control Mickey jeep and their parents will decide that’s a fair...

You mean at the resorts or in general? Encanto merchandise is everywhere although I can’t speak to the resorts.

    WDW Courtesy (or lack thereof)

That’s funny, I can’t remember what all they said but the one thing I remember clearly is their commentary on the hula girl, something like “Oh and look at this girl, she’s just given up!” or something like that. They were young fashionable types, I think they were going for a cool snarky vibe...

I think they offer tons of experiences! My comment was about their mission statement, which doesn’t seem to be in line with the totality of what they offer.

Wow, if you mentioned that I think they would’ve taken you up on it!

    WDW Courtesy (or lack thereof)

I sat in front of two women on Small World once who were verbally chronicling everything that wasn’t working correctly. I actually found that level of Disney nerding out kind of amusing but I could see it being irritating to dewy eyed guests.

I travel with a large family group so if I’m ready to lose it with someone it’s usually my own near and dear, lol! Even if a park guest is involved, I still end up annoyed with my group. Example… I was carrying my screaming toddler through the park a couple of years ago. A family member acted...

Agree… and AK was built (in my understanding at least) so that almost the entire park is like a walkthrough attraction.

They might not have chosen hotelier, but hotelier chose them. Parks, resorts and cruises are where they’re making much of their money now. Guessing that mission statement will evolve to include something about “experiences” over the next decade.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Genuinely curious, is there some kind of backstory behind your Joe Rohde obsession?

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

My guess is a combination of factors. I.e.: - “Animal experiences” are a prominent thing in kid’s entertainment now. Pretty locally around my area, you could feed a giraffe, pet a wallaby, drive right past a zebra, swim with otters, handle various reptiles, snorkel with stingrays, pet / feed a...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I think that waiting in a vehicle and waiting in a line are vastly different experiences. First and foremost, in the US at least, most children start riding around in car seats quite regularly from pretty much two days after birth onward. In terms of desensitization practices, that is pretty...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I think in decades past it was just framed differently. The highest price point was the “regular” price while anything else was a “sale” (and of course things go on sale all the time, and some things were almost always on sale.)
