News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

From Rohdes X account in 2019: All of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is based on three themes. The intrinsic value of nature. Psychological transformation through adventure. And a personal call to action. I actually think the last two could apply pretty well to Frontierland, Adventureland and...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

So, respect for a thoughtful well written post from a youngin’ like yourself, because when I was your age my deepest writing probably involved playing MASH. I’ve said before, I see two takes on this. One - that styles do change with generations. People don’t go out in poodle skirts or flapper...

    Prices up…profits down…

I am a D+ subscriber but unfortunately I started my D+ account under my junk email and have all my Disney vacation profile stuff under my “good” email. I once spent like two hours on the phone trying to get the email on the account changed and apparently it is literally impossible, so I tend to...

    Prices up…profits down…

Interesting. I was hoping for noteworthy resort discounts for our next trip as we’re visiting at an off time. They did dip briefly this fall (in addition to the typical non-peak-season prices) but not long after they actually raised resort prices a bit. Now when I’m looking at our dates, I’m...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

From what people have been saying here it sounds like Disney wanted it gone either way. I think a Coco Village (or my dream, French Quarter) would have been a much better replacement though. Maybe I’ll be surprised by the Cars ride though. At least it has something of a nature theme.

News Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

I suspect the Haunted Mansion style vibe is enough for many younger park goers who aren’t Twilight Zone fans. Disney has very few spooky attractions and the one they have (Pirates, Mansion, Tower) are pretty beloved. People love a Halloween vibe.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Found the post I was thinking of, it was by @PREMiERdrum! (Takes a moment to reflect on the fact that my phone is perpetually lost and if you ask me the name of a person I met last week, there is no chance I will remember it. But give me a Disney rumor, and suddenly I'm recalling message board...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

That was the ride, the rumor on here was that it was a Coco themed village as a themed outdoor area. One poster (can't remember who,) said that blending the sight lines with the Villains area was pushing the cost up too high which is why they went with Cars. (No idea if that's true or not.)

    Lightning Lane Premier Pass

I'm pretty terrible about being an overly splurgey splurger McSplurgerton, and even I cannot totally get over the idea of a $30 piece of cake. I get that it's all relative. I'm sure there are $500 bottles of wine that aren't actually that much better than $30 bottles of wine, and people still...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

I wish they had just gone with Coco’s Village, which I’ve inferred was the likely choice until potentially the day of the D23 announcement. I don’t mean to harp on this endlessly because I really enjoy the parks and think Disney is doing a lot of great things there, I’m just sooo bummed by this...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

My take is - I think people are kinda trying to figure out the point of this ride? And “Well maybe you drive it?!” seemed plausible but then that wasn’t the case. I loves me some Disney, but I’m really not getting the justification for this ride. It looks like an ambiance killer in a park that...

If someone is truly awful, cruel, mean spirited, etc., I get genuinely upset. If they don't bother doing their jobs, I of course find that unacceptable. That said, I have a ton of sympathy for service workers. Yes wages have increased but so has inflation and I hear the cost of living in...

I agree it's a nice phrase that sidesteps both "You're welcome" and "No problem". I don't necessarily agree that "no problem" indicates no future commitment. Honestly I think it's just a matter of new terms coming into fashion, as they always do. Example - if someone bumped into you today...

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Would definitely break this up into a group of 5/4. You probably need to coordinate with a member of your party to do this! (Depending on what mood the app is in.) Bolded because I didn’t want you to set an alarm to do the 6:00 am drop only to realize you can only put one reservation in your...

Maybe my view is overly dystopian. I sometimes feel like some biomes will be wiped out entirely, but maybe not.

I’m mid 40s and I definitely don’t say it in emails to colleagues. To me it comes across as a bit frosty. It’s kind of like the habit (that I’m sure also irks some posters here) of adding exclamation marks or a smiley face to random sentences in emails to indicate a tone of cheerfulness or...

I said the law exists, which it does. I don’t have any information on how strictly it’s enforced but as this was a very recent change (2023), my guess is at least somewhat. No law will have 100% enforcement but relatively speaking, it probably has an impact.

I don’t necessarily agree with every single point, but overall really good analysis. A few points I’d add: - Orlando is a weird situation in that they surely need a mind boggling number of service employees concentrated in a relatively small area. It keeps getting compared to ChickfilA -...

    WDW Hot Takes

More depressing take - in the next few decades we will rely more on zoos because certain species of animals will exist pretty much only in captivity. The idea of them living as wild creatures in, well, the wild, will feel like a quaint notion.

    WDW Hot Takes

My guess is this - when you think of walking down Main Street USA, do you mentally clench your fists while the words “adrenaline”, “hardcore”, and “thrash” come to mind? Is it more Metallica or soft jazz music in terms of vibe? There’s nothing wrong with thrills, but there are a ton of coaster...
